True. Men are often jerks, both in reality and fiction. I mostly read fiction because I like to escape reality. I like the few heroes who are truly men of character but enjoy plenty of stories where they are not. Heroines are probably more important as I have a really hard time reading an entire story with an unrelatable heroine. For example, I just started Skye O'Malley. I don't think I am going to like her or the book.
