Lauren (laurenreeding) I'm looking for a YA series in which a girl learns she has magical powers. Eventually, she moves in with her grandmother who I believe lives on a farm. The series includes fencing and there's a scene with a seance that takes place in the back of a shop in the second or third book. The girl also learns she has a long lost twin later on in the series. The first book's cover was mainly purple and black, and there was a scene with a car accident near the end. I believe the font on the covers was in cursive and italics. I read the series in 2010 or 2011 and there were four or five books included in it. Thanks!

Ross Elliston | 6 comments I guess you'd have mentioned if it was about vampires but there are a lot of plot similarities with the House of Night novels by PC cast?

Unfortunately not! Thank you, though.

I actually just remembered what it was! It's The Seer series by Linda Joy Singleton. The first novel is called Don't Die Dragonfly. I'm not 100% sure whether or not a yarn shop was involved, but I hope this helps!
