This was tough to read, it's about a character suffering from a mental illness and ends up hurting himself and getting involved in drugs and alcohol. it was very raw, very gritty, but very powerful (just warning for triggers!)

Forgive me if I missed a post but I have a question. Will there be an August Dusty Bookshelf? Chelle

I don't know, Chelle. Ezi didn't ask me to run it for her for August, and I had surgery earlier this month, so I'm just now getting to be able to be at the computer for long periods of time. Would probably be a good idea to PM her with this question, as these are really her challenges, and I just run them for her from time to time.

Sadly I'll probably only get to Scarlet this month.
Rachel, so glad you enjoyed both books! They're some of my all-time favourites, so I was hoping you'd like them. :)
I actually managed to read both the picks from my list and my recommencation this month -
ended up being my favourite among the books I read for DB this time, so thanks again for the necessary push to get me started on that series, Sunshine!

THanks for the picks!
Feral Dust Bunnies July 11 ★★★★
That Alien Feeling July 27 ★★★★
I think I'm going to run out of time for the bonus pick.

Hi, Joanne! Just wanted to say that I read Magic Bites this month, and while I had some issues with it, I plan on eventually continuing with the series (at least until I get to book 3 because that's where I was told it picks up). I gave it 2 stars

Out of the 3, my favorite was

The Courier by Gerald Brandt - 7/31/17
I really liked the pace of this dystopian novel. I liked the idea of of 2140 California as one giant megalopolis with several underground levels and off-planet colonies. I also liked the main character, Kris, who is the ultimate young survivor. I gave it four stars and am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
