Thoughts of The Assassin and Red Desert (view spoiler)[this is as boring as The Assassin and the Healer. I didn't quite like Celaena here. She's like in Throne of Glass which I also didn't quite like. But the twist at the end of the story can slightly chance my opinion about this novella. And in the end it made me round my rating up to 3 stars. Just like Yrene in The Assassin and the Healer, I really want to see other characters here again, the Master, Illias and especially Ansel. I think she's as a complex character as Celaena but in one way is more interesting than herself. (hide spoiler)]

Finished! My favorite is The Assassin and the Empire (view spoiler)[There's feeling in this novella, unlike other novellas in this book. I think it's because Sam Cortland. However, I wish I can also read from his POV. (hide spoiler)]

Final thoughts, this book is quite boring for me, though it can be a bridge to Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight.

I liked the atmosphere between the assassins - it reminded me of Locke Lamora. I was kind of surprised to see that Sam and Calaena didn't have a pleasant relationship from the beginning of the story... And nice to see them getting closer... (hide spoiler)]

And she and Sam are getting closer! Even though I am Chaolaena all the way and I can not imagine her with another man somehow I ship her with Sam, maybe because I see a completely different person! IDK but I do!

The Assassin and the Desert: This one wasn't as good as the first 2 in my opinion. It started out very slow although it did get better.

Finished the Assasin and the Desert: I really like the fact how she still kept thinking about Sam the whole time. I wonder what happened to the horse, btw.?

Finished this earlier today. I really enjoyed it, I loved reading about Celaena's past.

I liked seeing how their relationship progressed, but it was also hard to read as I knew it wasn't going to last. I dislike Arobynn and I can't believe he would betray Sam and Celaena like that. I think this is a must read for fans of the series as we get to see more of Celaena and we get to see a different side to her.

I think my favourite stories were The Assassin and the Pirate Lord, The Assassin and the Underworld and The Assassin and the Empire.
