My thoughts of The Assassin and The Pirate Lord (view spoiler)[I liked that I finally meet Sam, though it wasn't enough either. I found that many things happened too easily for Celaena and Sam. And as a well known pirate lord, Rolfe seems so easy to be tricked and easy to trust both of assassin. (hide spoiler)]

so here's my breakdown in comments

Pirate Lord: Uh, for a short story I really liked this one, how everyone was pretty much introduced, also liked the pirate guy (more so than the actual main characters. There was something about his personality (being all laid back but also alert) that pulled me in. Too bad he was defeated so easily haha

Only issue is the romance that's starting to bubble between C&S

Healer Out of all of them, this one seems to be the most insignificant, why was it written? I feel like it could have been omitted and we wouldn't have missed anything. (view spoiler)[ It does explain what happened to Celaena (or what WILL happen). We learned that magic has disappeared from the land since Adarian took over (it was also hinted with the Pirate Lord's tattoo). We get some hints into what could be Celaena's past. Was she a mageling? Did something similar to Yrene's past happen to her? Why exactly did she want to go to Antica? Since it's known for learning and magic...? (hide spoiler)]

Underworld/Empire I just want to say that Arobyn is amazing and he's one of my bad guy heroes, just like Amy from Gone Girl (view spoiler)[ Since the beginning I was waiting for someone to tell Celaena that she wasn't really all that important and that Sam was way better than her only for that NOT to happen. In fact, I didn't even think he'd be killed off! (which made me very happy, though the way that he died does pull at my conscious...) Then to see how easily Arobyn manipulates everyone into doing the things he wants, that cold calculation...has just about everyone but C&S known about this? I can't help but remember the looks and the way Celaena was warned before she goes...And they've been living with him since they were children, how is it that they couldn't pick up these little things?
