Connie N. | 3775 comments I finished my pick from Post #296:

Unscrewed (A Chrissy McMullen Mystery, #3) by Lois Greiman
Unscrewed by Lois Greiman - 10/24/19 ♥♥♥

It probably wasn't really a ho-hum 3-star rating, but I have had so many things going on in real life lately that I couldn't focus on it. I'd put it down for a few days, then when I picked it up again I'd have lost the storyline. *sigh* Not the book's fault, just bad timing.

Connie N. | 3775 comments Helen, I love your animal choices. I have to pick those adorable rodents in Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk A Modest Bestiary by David Sedaris .

My next 5 are books I have on my "own-it" shelf that'll help towards one challenge or another:

When the Sun Goes Down... (Harlequin Blaze, #472) by Crystal Green One of These Nights by Susan Sizemore Emergency! True Stories From The Nation's ERs by Mark Brown Seeing Red (Firefighter, #3) by Jill Shalvis One Pink Line by Dina Silver

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) Connie, i'm picking One Pink Line by Dina Silver -- i like the pink, and it's an O title.

Agnieszka (agnieszka7) | 617 comments I still not read my three books *sigh* but am hopeful I manage at least two of them this month. So I'm brave and dare to go for another round :-)

Jennifer, A Night's Tail (Magical Cats Mystery #11) by Sofie Kelly is such a cute cover (and I'm not a cat person) I had to pick it for you

Agnieszka (agnieszka7) | 617 comments Helen I pick for you The Midwife of Hope River (Hope River #1) by Patricia Harman I like the cover very much - especially the clean cut colors from opposite sides of the color wheel.

Since my iPad's too old for the Kindle app I have to put all my previous picks on the back burner for a while and read now my paper books or ebooks instead. My next five are:

Thank you!

So you can get reading, I pick for you "Unter dem Sternenhimmel." I like the traditional cover of the Baldacci book. I chose this one, though, because of the interesting contrast of the beauty of the nature, with the desolation of the cabin. I almost didn't even see it in the picture! Jennifer (jhaltenburger) Helen, i'm choosing Turn Right at Machu Picchu Rediscovering the Lost City One Step at a Time by Mark Adams for you. Fascinating place!

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) I finished Agniezska's pick for me yesterday: Sweet Tea and Secrets (A Tea and Read Mystery #2) by Joy Avon 4 stars and awaiting the third in the series!

Thanks for the new pick, Barbara!

Barbara, I'm picking The Book of Candlelight (Secret, Book, & Scone Society, #3) by Ellery Adams for you because 1) it's blue and 2) I haven't even started this series (although how this wasn't one of the literally 111 series I started in 2019 and still have to finish is beyond me), so someone in my "book circle" needs to keep up!

My next five:
The Last List of Miss Judith Kratt by Andrea Bobotis Meet Me in Monaco by Hazel Gaynor The Chelsea Girls by Fiona Davis For Whom the Bread Rolls (Pancake House Mystery #2) by Sarah Fox The Constant Princess by Philippa Gregory

Thanks for the pick. This is only the 3rd book in the series, and at the rate you read, it wouldn't take you long to get caught up :)

I'm so glad you liked it. I found out most of the books in this series were translated and the last translated is first in series (chronologically) - the one set in Memphis so I hope it will be soon available for libraries so I can look into this series and hope I'll like it as much as you do :-)

I plan to read my book within the next couple of days so I'm back for the next one. Jennifer I pick for you: For Whom the Bread Rolls (Pancake House Mystery #2) by Sarah Fox - what's not to like about this cover/book: ocean, a table looking like a tea pot, pancakes, fun title... so I hope you'll like the book.

My next five (not time sensitive books I want read this month/series I want continue):
Jesus, der Geheimdienst, mein Vater und ich by Ian Morgan Cron Death at the Trade Show (Target Practice Mysteries #3) by Nikki Haverstock Two Cabins, One Lake (Alaskan Romance #1) by Shaye Marlow Frame 232 (Jason Hammond Novels) by Wil Mara Return to Walhalla by Laura Hodges Poole

I hope so too, on both counts :) It is one of my favorite series, probably because the author includes a lot of history in his books. At the end of the book, he has a section where he explains what really happened, what he made up, how he changed things a bit to make the story flow better, and anything else that's relevant.

Agnieszka (agnieszka7) | 617 comments I finished last night In the Nick of Time (The 12 Mysteries of Christmas #1) by Susette Williams and for a very short cozy it was mostly ok and would've been a 3* rating. Unfortunatelly the last couple of chapters destroyed this notion and so it's 2 or 2.5* (I'll decide on it before I finish the book set)
