Ok, 2 days left in June... Michelle and Renee, you lovelies are the last 2 I need ratings for, for the main list!

Michelle, did you wind up rating Whispers & the Roars, I know you said you liked parts of it... but overall what would you rate?

Nay, I wasn't sure if you had time to read or not...

Michelle (michellesantiago) | 299 comments I was such a huge KA fan a few years ago. I think I OD'd on her, actually. It was so different from anything I had read at that time. Now, it's too much of a formula, and I already know what he's going to do and say and that she's going to wear tons of jewelry and have big hair and be into shoes and how she will decorate her house (in detail). Okay, you get the point. Not sure I could read her books now. I have moved on. Sad. Because, at the time, I LOVED the heck out of them. I read her back to back. Dozens of books. GAH!

Michelle (michellesantiago) | 299 comments Except Golden Dynasty. I can still re-read that one. LOL

I know what you're saying, Michelle. The formula is there, but all the same I still love some of the books. Those hot alpha males. Phew! e.g. the Rock Chick books are a bit corny, but I still lurve some of the hot guys :) But I could never get into Golden Dynasty. KA's fantasy/pnr books just never worked for me :(

Leslie | 2430 comments We do OD on certain "formulas" don't we? It's funny how we can absolutely LOVE something then we get so sick of it we can't tolerate it. I look back on old books I loved and gag now. Lucky for us books are plentiful and lots of options. 😁

Yes, formula. Great word, Michelle. Im ok with it, turns it into almost a comfort read. But i do wish she would shake it up when it comes to the interactions between the MCs more.

Michelle (michellesantiago) | 299 comments I just wish she wouldn't make every guy SOUND the same. That same "slang" of hers. It makes it out to be the same guy. I loved that guy for a very long time, but I need something new.

Huh. I can't say I've ever noticed that. I'm going to look more closely on my next KA read.

message 161: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments I'm not. I'm just going to enjoy the KA ride!

Her "alpha speak" is how i have heard it described. The only time it bugs me is when he repeats "Babe" five time to get her attention. I end up simultaneously wanting to yell at her to answer the question and him to be quiet and let her think.

Ok one more. When he explains how she is wrong. At some point in every book.

But honestly she us almost a always an automatic one click for me and many rereads.

I think you're right, Ela.

Michelle--that is me EXACTLY. I mean, I could have written your post. As soon as KA published all those books back to back, I read all of them, and I mean inhaled them! All I read was KA for several weeks, and I think I went through about 50 books! As far as I was concerned, the longer the better, and several of them were over 500 pages, and I lurve the alpha-speak and everything else about her alphas! Tate Jackson started it all, and from there, I couldn't stop!

Grey--I just have to finish it, and I'll let you know. But it's probably going to be 5 stars.

message 165: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellesantiago) | 299 comments Tate was my first KA alpha, too. I waited the longest to read Rock Chicks, which turned out to be good because of the repeat characters. Don't even remember the storylines.

message 166: by [deleted user] (new)

Because of this i re read some sections of some of KA books.

I did the same as Nay and glommed her books. It helped that she published a lot at one time when she first started.

message 167: by Jan (new)

Jan (jan130) Welp I still love KA, and I do reread occasionally. But I have to admit that I skim sometimes when they're dragging a bit. And I enjoyed the rock chick books, but I'm first to admit they are pretty silly. Kinda fun in an airhead way. But I still love her alpha heroes, cliche or repetitive though they may be. I'm not sick of them yet.
