I AM REALLY SURPRISED YOU HAVEN'T READ IT OR BEEN BULLIED INTO READING IT *GASP*

message 102: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Lisa, Opportunist series is a must read. Its totally crazy and addicting. The first book was my least fave but as it went on, it was unputdownable and a mind f@ck!!!

message 103: by Jan (new)

Jan (jan130) Yeah I'm in for July too. I still haven't finished my May or June picks though. *embarrassed grin* But I haven't given up on them yet! I just keep getting sidetracked by other shiny things. Sometimes I feel like I've got the attention span of a gnat......... If a book gets a teensy bit boring I'm all, yeah..... what else have I got on my kindle? But I do plan to gb to my May and June ones. Really. Cross-my-heart.

Anna Penwick (annapenwick) | 166 comments I haven't read the Opportunist either. It's on my pick for me shelf.

Kate | 26 comments I just finished Me Before You and it was sooooooo good! 5 perfect stars!! Thanks for the pick Paula!

message 110: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments Kate - have you seen the movie yet. I can't remember...I'm sure we discussed this. But gahhhh, the movie!!!! At the end...when he barely strokes her finger with his thumb. Sobfest!!! It's so barely noticeable, but it is forever imprinted in my brain.

message 111: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellesantiago) | 299 comments Lisa - I finished! What the ever loving heck was THAT? I went in blind, and glad I did. Whoa. Totally need to digest this one before reviewing it.

Paula White | 800 comments Glad you loved it Kate! I've not read the sequel...
And I agree with Lisa - the film is good too

message 120: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Just teasing Paula! *hugs*

Enjoy your "holiday". I love your British - isms. I giggled when you said "blimey" in a post before.

But seriously...you have entire series read when the rest of us only have few chapters!

Jan, Amy, Leslie, Nay, Niki have you finished? did I miss your ratings?

Michelle... what did you decide on for Whispers & the Roars?

Being close to the end of June, I just wanted to try and have the list updated...I know, my OCD is ridiculous!

Um, I've only read half of mine and got sucked away by other reads LOL. But I do plan to go back and finish........ :D

I haven't seen the movie yet, but it's on my to do list for the holiday weekend coming up! Though I'll have to figure out when I can watch it alone (I just know I'm going to cry my eyes out).

Fabi, I read Hausfrau too... thank you for both of your picks-for-me this month!!

message 127: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Apparently it is just not in the cards for me to like KA. I am bummed as I want to love her but I think her books are too slow?, wordy?, long?...I don't know....I am just bored silly. I made it to 31% of Heaven and Hell (Heaven and Hell, #1) by Kristen Ashley and I just can't do it...

*heads to corner to wallow in book shame *

message 128: by [deleted user] (new)

Leslie, i like her. But she has a very very distinct style. Definitely not for everyone at all. I think she is just not for you. Her books can be very similar so if one or two didn't work then the others are not going to.

*bugs out eyes* Why the heck ever not???? I have the worst track history in picking for others....Are we sure we have any books in common *yells to whole group*

message 130: by Leslie (last edited Jun 28, 2017 01:02PM) (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Ela, dont be silly. I picked the book, it was on my list because I wanted to try it. It doesnt reflect in you. Its me and my stupid picky self.

Leslie, I totally get it. I read some Kristen Ashley early on (2015 maybe?) and I liked a couple of them, and everyone was raving about her books.......but yeah, I think it's the length of her books (they are all long) and maybe too descriptive. You would not believe how many I have downloaded because every time they went on sale when I first starting reading I would just 1-click.......now they are sitting there in my TBR like lost souls! LOL!

Bev, I def agree her style pretty distinct. I think the slow-ish books must not be thing as I can't get into Mariana Zapata's slow burns either. :(

message 134: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments KA is an author all on her own...

message 135: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Jean, if so many people didnt love her, I wouldn't care. But...she is soooooo popular in the romance circle, I feel like a loser not liking her.

message 136: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments She's just not your thing, I guess...

message 137: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments I really think it depends on the book.....and the series....there are some KA books that I really WANT to read, but just procrastinate because I know they will take up a lot of my time because of the length.

Leslie - I have yet to even read a KA book, so I'm a bigger loser than you are. We can be loser friends!! Loser besties even!!!!

message 140: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Thank Lisa!!!

*huggles*

message 141: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments I just updated my PFM list and I may be setting myself up for some big time "Marmy" reads depending who gets to pick for me. But if I don't do it this way, I may never have the guts to read the couple that I added......

message 142: by [deleted user] (last edited Jun 28, 2017 02:00PM) (new)

MZ has a certain style too. Definitely slow slow burn. Likes to ralk about poop. Short endings tacked on to loooong books. Realistic but pretty positive family units . Of the ones ive read.

KA. You know I wish she was more slow burn. But does have long books. Very descriptive. Very Alpha heroes with their distinctive "alpha speak". Heroines with great hair, tits, and ass, and drama even the shy ones that the heroes like to call cute or goofy. Heroines give into the hero often and you know the conflict between them will be solved quick. Not really high stakes.

message 144: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments Lisa how is it that we are 93% similar in books?

I have a lot of things on my TBR list - not necessarily that I've read that we share in common I think. Kind of like when I grow up I wanna be more like Ela, but I'm not quite there yet!!!

Praying to the Pick For Me Gods to gimme Jean!!! I may even light a candle and say a prayer!

Jean | 1658 comments Oh no Lisa, now I'm scared!

message 149: by Jan (new)

Jan (jan130) *hugs Leslie and Lisa* You two are so not losers. So KA's not your thing? Big deal. We all have popular authors that we didn't connect with. I personally love many of KA's books, although not all of them. But the length of her books can be a problem. Even with her books that I like, I have sometimes found they drag a bit in the middle or the second half, and I've been known take a break and g-b-l. I bet I've even got a few unfinished ones hanging around on my kindle that I didn't go back to (yet!) I suspect Heaven and Hell may be one of them!

I did the coffee spitting thing again this morning when I read your funny typo bev: "Likes to ralk about poop." The mind boggles. I love funny typos. Yesterday I called Mills and Boon 'Mills and Boob'. LOL. That's a better name anyway, right?

message 150: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol. It wasnt a typo. She totally does.
