Yeah.....but I still wouldn't expect that from the heroine from that warning. I might expect a Kiera or (oh, whats her name?) The Opportunist author's type.
And again maybe that just the type of heroine she meant to write, who thinks of people with delays in those terms, IDK.
But I found it upsetting.

Right. Maybe her perception of her brother is addressed more in depth and is part of her growth. I didnt read past that part.
Maybe she wanted to write a Bad News Bear/Bad Santa type character. Ive enjoyed those types and Archie Bunker too. Beyond my ability to unpack the skill needed for that type of work.
I can only say that in my life in my family is a beautiful little girl who has delays in a few areas. The thought of her, the knowledge, that she already faces these types of thoughts a nd words before she is even ten and will continue to have to hurts. So .....ok deep breath....it hit a personal tender spot.
If she wrote it with intention...ok. if she didnt I hope she can view it in a different way at se point.
But I have to go to work and thinking on it is making me tear up. So I have got to let it go.

Sorry, didnt mean to imply Transcendence was not HEA. Its obvs a very untraditional book and Ela likes to try to talk people into it. Hee hee Its not a non-HEA, its just a tearjerker. I cried from spoilers.

I'm late to the party here--Leslie, is the reason you don't want to read it because you cried at the spoilers?? I loved the book, but I can't remember EXACTLY how it ended...
I refreshed Nays memory in a PM as I don't want to risk spoilers. Nothing worse than an unintentional spoiler.
Grey wrote: "Fabi... what kinda comment is that?!? your opinion means a lot to me!"I was referring to how I normally don't like sad stories. I'm not a tough guy (gal) like ya'll are.

Oh, results! Juniper Smoke was good, though apparently a little forgettable. *sighs* Silly brain. I rated it 4.5 since it kept me totally engrossed through all 700+ pages, but the ending kind of sucked big time. Besides, the dude was obsessive. You all know I love obsessive Heroes. :P
Wow, hard to believe we are 1/3 of the way thru June already! I am almost done with my current read and then Rush will be next! If anyone has any updates, please let me know so I can update the list!
Can't remember if I posted - although you'd have to have had your head buried not to see ALL my updates, but I finished Sex Love Repeat and rated 4 stars. Loved it!!!
I am going to start mine tomorrow or Tuesday Renee - it ends on a cliffhanger, so does book 2 and book 3 is out Wednesday. I know what I am like - I will have to read all 3!
