The Earl's Wallflower Bride (Marriage by Arrangement #3) by Ruth Ann Nordin

How it Fits: 3rd in a series: Marriage by Arrangement #3
Date Read: 2nd July
Rating: ★★★

Review:

Helena, Melissa, and Chloe are arranging marriages, but not all will go smoothly... A really sweet short story, with some of the nicest protagonists and it was very funny with the situations that played out. I enjoyed that the male lead, Warren Beaufort, finds it difficult to reading social cues, which finds him in interesting/funny situations. Awkwardness away! And because of this Iris fills slighted/ignored by him at two party's. Then her father arranges her marriage with Warren and the hilarity ensues.

While I enjoyed most of the story the earthquake was weird and seemed like filler and the ending was rushed. What REALLY made me angry however was the author's half-formed side plot involving Sonny and Levi from book 1. It is clear that this couple is having problems throughout yet, the author never actually addresses the problems and certain doesn't it resolve it. As this book was written in 2014, it doesn't seem like an addition to the series is in the works.

Review: I really enjoy this author. The narrator of the audiobook is fantastic. I liked that the MCs have been friends since childhood. Plus they both have been in love with the other for years though they never told each other that fact. Violet was a little frustrating at times but it's a little more understandable once you learn the truth about her relationship with her late husband. I look forward to the next book in the series.

This book was a fun, quick read. Sam and Noel are finally getting married. Noel's crazy family is helping her pull off the wedding and it is pretty entertaining. The humor in this series is bordering on vulgar but I could not help but laugh out loud at times. I enjoy how Tara Sivec mixes the silly with the sweet moments.

Rhys Davies is the bastard son of an English lord who refused to acknowledge him. He has made his own way and as one of the best attorneys in London. When he fails to retain a distinguished client because of his unmarried state, he sets out to search for a wife. Princess Annalies father’s was overthrown by their people, and they both meet and a scandal that threatens both their lives. It kind of bored me and to me it wasn't as good as the first book.

Wow! I was pleasantly surprised by this. I guess I was expecting PWP. Aiden is captured, or saved, depending on the point of view, by Einnar, a Norseman. Aiden was an outcast in his is hometown. Although he is initially angry at the Norseman for killing everyone he knows and dragging him away from his home country, he soon becomes a part of the community - -something he never had at home. He eventually earns his freedom through bravery in battle. I'm off to look for book 2 in this series.

I was surprised by how much I liked this one. The idea of a third child being illegal is so foreign to me but I know it is that way in other countries. I loved the friendship between Jen and Luke. Review:

A great medieval Arthurian legend. Wart (Arthur), is one of my favourite characters, I love that he's such a silly kid but you also see him as a very noble person too, and being true to himself. Through his adventures he goes though with Merlyn teaching/helping him learn the skills necessary to become a great ruler and these enable him to pull the sword from the stone, and becomes King Arthur.

And Kay is a good character too, he is a proud guy who is prone to bullying others. I do feel for the guy. And I love wise old Merlyn, being mysterious wizard and a kindly old man.

This book is a sweet, intelligent, funny, and endearing book and I need more. A inspiring tale of a orphan that had nothing who became one of the greatest people in history, and in my opinion he didn't become so great because he becomes a King - it because he is a good, kind ruler who loves and is devoted to his people that he leads, and that's what makes him so great.

Review:

At the conclusion of the last book, Annabeth and Percy tumble into a pit leading straight to the Underworld. Nico, here we come to see you. And this is getting so intense with Gaea’s armies, (that will never die), getting closer to coming into our wold - Our heroes have to save the wold yet again before its too late. And to make the situation worse, in about a month, the Romans will march on Camp Half-Blood on a war rampage.

Frank got stronger, more sure in himself and in his abilities, even though his still conflicted with it. Hazel became so brave too! And my favourite, Leo, has fallen in love, and is excepting himself for who he is and just becoming a stronger person inside and out. Nico has always broke my heart because he keeps to himself and keep's his pain inward. He believes no one will accept him - so he hides himself. He believes that no one cares about him (not even Percy and Annabeth), but he still cares about them all.

I was high strung through most of it - damn you Rick, how could you do this to me! I also found the book funny as usual, I look forward to finding out how everything will resolve.

This is a fairly typical shifter series. However, each book features an omega and some other wolf - -alpha, beta and in this one gamma. So, the fact that that the MC is not the leader makes it a little different from the norm. This series is available through Kindle Unlimited. I think it is unlikely that I would continue with the series if it had to pay full price.

I am looking forward to Gabe's story in the next book.
