Mandiann, please take your time to finish your book. I can roll the dice Friday evening if that helps you out. Please take care of yourself and no worries.

Review:
So in this book...
Gin Blanco is on a brake with Owen Grayson. Because of what happened with Salina, Owen's ex. So her foster brother and good friend Finn brought her to fanciest art museum.
But nothing goes as planed. Not only someone tries to rob the museum, but Owen is also there with a date. And the worst thing, at least for Finn, Owen's date is with the same dress as Gin.
Just a quick update. Have less than 100 pages to go. Well not feeling 100%, today hasn't been as bad as the last few. I am reading right now and determined to get through these last 91 page shortly. Will be back with a review soon. Thanks for your patience. Sorry for the delay.

Book: Lord of Shadows
Author: Cassandra Clare
Date read: 8/11
Pages: 701
How it fits: Dark Artifices #2
Rating: 3 stars
Review:
Well...This was probably the first Cassandra Clare book I was actually somewhat looking forward to. I really liked the cast and what she started in book one. Sadly, I was less impressed with book two. At times it was too slow and some of the new characters were quite unenjoyable but I just can't get past that ending. Maybe I am missing something but couldn't everything have been avoided if they just made Zara hold the sword and get questioned?
May change my rating to 2 stars. Need to sleep on it.

Sweet Hide and Seek by J.A. WhitingHow the book qualifies: #9 in the Sweet Cove Mystery series
Pages: 230
Read: 8/14/17
Rating: 4
Review: This is such a fun clever easy to read series and book 9 was no different. The Roseland sisters have slight paranormal powers and use these powers for good by consulting with the sweet cove police department to help solve mysteries...with the help of cats Euclid and Circe of course. This was another clever mystery which took a while to reveal itself and being a quite a short read, the story moves quickly and the pace of the story makes for an altogether enjoyable read.

Review: I was disappointed in the book. The premise was interesting - Leslie and Dev had been friends in high school although Devon wasn't part of Leslie's "group" of friends. After Devon was in a motorcycle accident, they moved in different directions - fast forward and Leslie's a high-powered corporate attorney and Devon is an environmental scientist. Leslie comes home for a vacation due to a health crisis and Devon is working on a project in the area. There were several issues - first of all, both characters spoke of a "connection" but I didn't really see it - I could see no reason that they would have a lasting relationship. Also, Leslie's initial health issue wasn't really resolved. Overall, a disappointing book saved because it was short.

Review:
So this book is a little bit different than others, because for a chance this book timeline, isn't summer, it's winter-Christmas break.
Annabeth and Artemis are missing, so Percy, Grover, Thalia and two new characters, hunters, immortal girls going to another quest.
I was a little sad that in this book Tyson was working with other cyclops. So he wasn't a part of the quest. Also I was really sad, that some characters, that I learned to like died in this book.
Almost done my book but falling asleep and it looks like we are missing reviews for two other people so I will post first thing in the morning cause I suck.
Week 11 - Spot 89
Angel by S.A. Huchton
Qualification: Alternative - Cover Blue
Date read: 8/17/17
Pages: 330
Rating: 4 stars
Review: The plot of this book reminds me awful lot of Divergent and Ender's Game. Candace Bristoll applies and is accepted to the Angel program, a genetic augmentation experiment that creates living superheroes with amazing abilities. Those who successfully complete the program are assigned to protect US society against illegally modified monsters. The Angel program is not without its problems - the genetic changes can enhance the worst character flaws as well as talents, which is exactly what happens to the man Candace has fallen in love with. I enjoyed the book.

Book: The Ghost at Dawn's House
Author: Ann M. Martin
Date read: 8/18
Rating: 2.75 stars
How it fits: #9 in BSC series
Review:
Honestly, I am only reading these because I impulse bought the set used cheap from someone and I needed a 9th in series for this challenge and they are short. While I can appreciate that they may be well suited to a 12 year old child, they don't translate well to an adult reading them.

I've started this book twice, and for some reason couldn't get past the first two chapters both times. It sounds like I should give it another try.
