Cool!
How is everyone else doing?

Task ~ 32nd book in a series (also 2nd or 3rd in series) & Alt 32. Fairy Tale Retellings
Book ~

Completed ~ 7-5-17
Fits ~ Soulfinders #2; Study #5; The Chronicles of Ixia #8
Rating ~ ✯✯✯✯.5??
Review ~ Finished less than 5 minutes ago, so still processing. but DANG!!!!!
So.....
To start, like I stated with the previous book, I loved the original three Poison Study books when I first found them years ago, and in ever subsequent reading. I had no idea they were considered YA until I got on Goodreads because I always thought you needed a YA MC, but even if Yelena turned out to be just a teen she seems so much more mature. I have also read the spin off Glass Series, or in-between books depending on if we look at the Study numbering or the Chronicles of Ixia numbering. I am excited to read the continuation of the tales in these Soulfinder books.
I have almost always really like Yelena, but originally I really disliked Valek. However, now I also love him, I think as the books progressed you see so much more of him and so can understand him so much better. This book also dropped a bunch of bombshells into his life and I think by the conclusion of the next, last, book we will see an even different Valek than we have come to know so far.
Ari and Janko, are heartwarming but strong support while offering up a lot of comic relief. I think Leif is often also in this position, but much of that comes from the brother-sister dynamic between him and Yelena. Many of the others fill lots of different niches in her life, and we are constantly meeting new people to make it richer.
.....still processing on what else to write.

3rd in a series:

378 pages
Finished 7/5/2017
4 stars (maybe? I'm conflicted)
Why am I conflicted on the # of stars? Ok this was a really good romantic suspense. Taka is a typical Anne Stuart hero in being cold and of questionable character. In the first 2 of the series, the hero was supposed to kill the heroine as collateral damage to complete the mission in order to save lots of other innocent lies. But if I remember right, in both instances they immediately knew they couldn't kill the heroine. In this one Taka actually tries to kill her twice and the only reason he doesn't succeed is because he stops himself. He literally had his hands on her and about to kill her twice and not just the mental dialogue of "I can kill her if I need to, no I can't kill her, blah blah blah". That kind of ruined the whole HEA for me.

Beauty, Inc. pennymakers tales #3
Finished 5/7

This was a sweet mm version on one of my favourite fairytales Beauty and the beast. The thing that i love with this is the added twist of retelling this classic with two men instead of the classic man and woman angle

Hey Mary, your completion post says 38 pages???? I just know your book was longer so not sure if it was a typo for that or something else.
;-)

Fingers crossed tonights roll is another good one.

Review:
Alice Clayton has managed to redeem herself in my eyes with this book. I'm sure people thought I was crazy since I was lagging so hard while enjoying this story.
Why then didn't I give this 5 stars?
Well, whenever our heroine started thinking like she was in her imaginary romance novel, a cheesy one at that, it was sort of annoying.
Otherwise this is a true gem of a story. Glad to see Simon and Caroline again also.

Mine are often way shorter than that. But when we have to post them for challenges then I often go way overboard and start to babble.
;-)

I do not see where on the book page it says that is a series book, much less what series nor the number in the series.
Could you get a Goodreads Librarian to update the book so it doesn't cause the team a possible issue? Thanks

Review:
Since the weatherman had predicted a glorious evening, that's exactly what Theodosia Browning was expecting.
Theo and company are providing the refreshments for the first Poet's Tea at the Heritage Society when bad weather forces them inside. The body of Roger Crispin falls into the cake table during Drayton's reading of Annabel Lee. A new shop owner, Gracie Venable, becomes the prime suspect when it is revealed that she had an intimate relationship with the victim.
This is a good addition to the Tea Shop series. I really enjoy learning about the teas that Drayton provides for various dishes and occasions. As always, Haley is a champ in the kitchen. Her recipes are divine and I look forward to trying a few of them. The decorating tidbits make me happy, too.
The addition of Gracie provides a new shop and information on hat making. I'm a sucker for a good hat.
Theo and Jory experience a jolt in their relationship when he is offered a new position. I was really disappointed in his attitude towards Theo when she started sleuthing. He has always had her back but this time tried to get her to stop as it made him look bad in his firm.
The mystery was good and had several twists and turns that I did not expect. And could there be a new romance brewing for Theo? I need to catch up in this series. It is always enjoyable and I'm not sure why I haven't read one in a while. Particularly since I own most of them.
A delightful Saturday morning read.

Review ~ I like this one, it is another nice addition to the series. It started out pretty good. The characters are still intriguing. The story still interesting, and it still has some good humor, sarcasm, and wit happening. No real odd details that were overemphasized making you instantly know they would become important later in the series or book. Parallel worlds make a fascinating story, and again the author played within the rules. With all the alternate realities, it is hard to keep up with what is possible or not possible. And the magic aspect of this series leaves so many possibilities for the future books
Well worth the read and I look forward to continuing this series.

Sorry, you did not need to change your book, could have just gotten the Goodreads entry adjusted.
I will update to this one.

I'll read this: 6th in series:
320 pages

Mary how is that series? Is it one that really needs to be read in order? Or you can sort of be read out or order with only a few spoilers here and there? Because with those covers they could be very useful in challenges.

We have about 2 days 8 hours and 30 minutes till books and post with reviews need to be done.
This is what I show everyone as reading this week, if they are wrong please tell me.

Review:
Reading about Saskia and Nicolas was a bit predictable, but great nonetheless.
I could tell right away who the guilty party was going to be, but it didn't take anything away from their story.
I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about Nicolas in the beginning, but one our "Sassy" heroine stood up for herself, and he actually paid attention, he was alright with me.
I only wish it would have had more shifting, since I left the story not knowing what Nicolas's tiger looked like, just how much it weighed. (Well, maybe they all look alike, except for the rare ones?)
Of course it is always a plus to get updates on the couples that came before, the only people missing (that were actually missed) were Regina and Luc. They did receive a mention though.

I really like this series. I would say that you should read them in order. Unlike many historical and cozy type series, the character's lives actually progress and change in this series. Characters change jobs, marry, have kids etc...,

Another entertaining book in the series. One thing I like about these is the characters actually have lives unlike many historical mystery series. No endless love triangles or anything here. Also the hero, Charles Lenox, doesn't always get his man. Sometimes the bad guy gets away.

Review ~ This is a another fun cooking related cozy mystery series. In this one, I have been enjoying the dynamics of the MC her Grandmother, her brother, her straight male best friend, and the ghostly visitors. I think having the series set in an old west Missouri town with lots of historical "characters" is brilliant. It gives the author a lot of different stories as well as personalities to pull from without the location needing to change much. I look forward to where the story will go and who we will meet next.

But I say that every evening.

They are also good for listening to while running errands or commuting I find.
:-)

I am in the mood to listen to this because the heroine is about to spend time in a haunted murder house and that's right up my alley. I was late getting to work today because I lost track of time listening at home this morning.

Ah! a 5-minute commute is awesome!
...but, yeah, I hear yah, it sure does not lend itself to much listening to an audio book.
