The Vampire's Accidental Wife (Nocturne Falls, #8) by Kristen Painter
Book: The Vampire's Accidental Wife
Qualification: #8 in series
Date Read: 8/13
Rating: 4 stars

This is the 3rd Nocturne Falls book I've read for this challenge.

Review: This was an excellent ending to the series. I've been wanting a peek behind his playboy persona since the very first book. And this romantic-at-heart Vampire doesn't disappoint. His love for and devotion to Desi is so sweet. I did have an issue with her issues. It seems to me like over the course of 100 years maybe she would have gotten some therapy to move past her issues. But maybe Vampires mature more slowly than humans?

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 1078 comments I'm changing my book this week (just realized I don't have the version I thought of the other book)...

New selection post book

True Crime Stories Volume 4 12 Shocking True Crime Murder Cases (True Crime Anthology) by Jack Rosewood by Jack Rosewood

Is this a long enough book?

Update: Per the rules ✸Page limit is 140
so I'm okay with this one!!

review:
I really enjoyed this short novel. The author managed to create a very like able main character. She also was able to convey a sense of suspense and mystery that many longer novels lack. Over all an enjoyable easy read.

Review: I enjoyed this book but felt it was a little short. All of the events were kind of squeezed in without much build-up. However, it was one of my favorites of the series so far. I will continue on with it.

True Crime Stories Volume 4 12 Shocking True Crime Murder Cases (True Crime Anthology) by Jack Rosewood
Blue cover
Finished: 8/15/17
Rating: 3 stars
Review: The book reviewed 12 true cases of murder dating back as far as the early 1800s and as recent as this decade. It was kind of like reading an episode (or 12) of cold case files on tv. While I didn't "enjoy" the material some of the crimes were disturbingly fascinating. I also remembered hearing about a lot of the more recent crimes like the murder of a young girl in Italy.

Distraction (Club Destiny, #8) by Nicole Edwards
Distraction by Nicole Edwards
How it fits: Club Destiny #8
Completed: 8/16/17
Rating: 4.5 stars
Review: It's been quite awhile since I read a book in the Club Destiny series, so it took a bit to remember who the characters were - but that didn't really matter. Dylan Thomas is a broken man, still 11 years afte his wife died. But he's been working on getting better, finally addressing and beating his alcoholism. Sarah Fulton also lost her spouse and, after lots of therapy, has worked to remake herself. Sarah and Dylan dated in high school, and then had one night three years ago. They run into each other at a party and old feelings resurface on both their parts. On one hand, this book was kinda depressing with all that the two had been through. But it was also uplifting to see them trying to work through things and also hot - especially the menage scene!! Usually I'm sad when a series comes to an end, but Nicole Edwards is so good at interweaving her series together that you know some of the characters will show up in other books, so you never really to have to say goodbye to them. 4.5 stars!

Bryn Barnes (bryndigsbooks) Sorry I'm running so late this week, guys. It's been the week from hell at work. I have about 50 pages left that I'm going to sit down and bust out right now and then I'll do my review right after.

Review: This novel is the heart wrenching story of two teenage sisters who are Siamese twins. I honestly didn't know any more than that going into this book but I was pleasantly surprised by how deep and poignant it was. I was sooo close to shedding tears at the end. I don't want to say much more because I don't want to ruin the book for anyone who wants to but hasn't read it. I found it deeply moving and would highly recommend it.

Laura | 901 comments We rolled an 11! That put us at 100. I used 2 of our 4 bonus points to put us at 102 (I figured that would give us more options, adding the 2 in there). We do still have to read this week & post our completion/reviews in order to win. And there are more teams still to post their rolls, but so far we're the only team to get over 100 this week.

You rolled 2 dice:

5 6

Review: I really enjoyed this paranormal YA romance. I liked the fact we were dealing with aliens and not the usual vampires or werewolves. Daemon and Kat (or Kitten as he likes to call her) are great together, and Dee was just a darling alien looking for a friend. I look forward to continuing with this series.

Review: Great start to a new series (although I did read book #2 first!) Lee Barnard is a South African rugby player living in Aspen. When he breaks his ankle not-skiing, his next door neighbor, Sage Blum, helps him out. The two have lived next door to each other for the past two years, but never dated and Lee even put her on the rugby team Don't Touch list. But spending time together causes Lee to re-evaluate things and he proposes a fake arrangement with Sage (hoping things turn into more.) I loved these characters, the humor and the one-liners. Neither was what they seemed in the beginning and my only complaint was that the book wasn't long enough. There was a brief part where all the family stuff came out, but I would have liked more Lee and Sage time as well!
