SOLVED. Book about a girl with a scarred/burned face [s]

Okay ya'll, this is my third time going on an extensive search across the internet looking for a book with only vague details (i.e. I don't know the authors, publication dates, or character's names)

Here's what I do know:

I think the publication date would have to range from 1980 and BEFORE 2011

It's about a girl who's face is horribly scarred due to either a car accident or burned in a fire - it could be either. Her whole face has to be wrapped in bandages I remember that. I'm not sure if her parents survived but the main thing was - her SISTER went through the same accident/fire and made it out unscathed, not a single scratch on her body. This leads to her the main characters little sister rise to fame and publicity being called the "miracle child" or "angel child" something like that. The media has her only wear white, this was a big deal, because the main character is relieved when she finally sees her little sister wearing red shorts again, I remember that detail distinctly. I think this book is about rehabilitation for the the main character after her horrible accident, and learning to accept her scars, or something. Also spite and jealousy because her sister didn't get any scars and has become the media's angel, so to speak. It's about sisters, and healing, and acceptance. That's about all the details I can think of. Oh, I remember the cover distinctly too: It's black with a girl covering her face so you can only see her eyes, her skin is light red (making me think she was in a fire) the title I think it's is in yellow. I thought it was titled "scars" or "burned" but so far I haven't found anything remotely akin to what I'm looking for.

Oh, thank you. I would say it's fiction, but it could have been based on a true story. Pretty sure it would be filed under fiction, though.
