Ann | 38 comments Is it too late to join this challenge? I just joined the group and this challenge sounds like fun!

message 52: by Anna (new)

Anna W | 12 comments I've still not heard from the person I was paired with; her page is private and I can't access her books.

message 53: by Lissette (new)

Lissette (liss4ever) why don't you guys pair up then? The challenge is until the end of June

message 54: by Lissette (new)

Lissette (liss4ever) Priynaya rated The Alchemist 3 stars, and I rated it two stars.

message 55: by Pixye (new)

Pixye I have started reading the book, it's pretty good so far

Tiina (cauchemarlena) | 371 comments In a bit of awkward turn of events, I have read all of my partner's read books before. Should I reread one of them or what?

message 57: by Anna (new)

Anna W | 12 comments Elizabeth and Ann, would you guys want to do a trio read?

I'm cool with that.
Let me know whose READ list I need to choose from. :)

message 59: by Anna (new)

Anna W | 12 comments Ann, let's read from each other's since it has been a few days since Elizabeth commented and her page is private. If she joins back in a few days, we can pick one off of her list as well! I choose Caraval from your list. It's been in my TBR for a long time and I've heard wonderful things about it.

Dena Gregoire (dysprosium) | 5 comments I was paired with Annie and selected "The Help" from her list of books she has read.

She gave it 5 stars and I gave it 4.

I really enjoyed this book. I can't say it enough. The way the author writes from 3 different character's perspectives works, and I find the rotation really what makes the books so wonderful.

I highly recommend it!

Pixye Hi Jacob! I really liked The Fault In Our Stars, it was sad but nice, you gave it two stars and I gave it four (I like to exaggerate). How are you doing with Wild Born?

message 62: by Lisa (new)

Lisa I finished reading Working Stiff: Two Years, 262 Bodies, and the Making of a Medical Examiner which Anastasiia and I both give five stars. I love reading about peoples' jobs, and I am also fascinated by medicine and forensics, so this was a great combination. The author brought a very humanizing, personal touch to the narrative. She also worked on the 9/11 death investigations, and that aspect was very powerful reading.

Anastasiia -- are you playing? I haven't heard from you at all this month.

I agree, the movie is good as well (but its always recommended to read first)

BTW, I really loved And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie

I actually didn't even know it was a movie until I picked up the book from the library. I already looked and they have it so I plan on watching it soon.

I'm glad you liked it! I was honestly surprised I did haha. The only reason I checked it out was I needed to read a book older than me in another group.

Aesaan (highlycaffeinatedreader) Funny, because I chose to read 'A Monster Calls' only after finding out it is a movie (a visually stunning and very well received movie) :-)

And Then There Were None was also my June-PIFM read and I wanted to read more of Agatha Christie's mysteries.

Anna, I'll read City of Ashes from your READ books because I need the push to do so. I wasn't really thrilled with City of Bones, but a friend of mine is really wanting me to continue with the series.

So. I am one day late on this particular thread, but I just finished Caraval. I agree with your 5 star rating. I adored this book and how it captured and captivated from the very beginning and then left me with so many questions. Definitely an excellent choice on my part!

Ann | 38 comments Anna, I finished City of Ashes one day late as well (I finished it yesterday) and you rated it 4 stars, but I gave it 3 stars.
This book was not my fave...I have had a hard time getting into this series, but I'll probably continue on with it because my friend tells me they get better. Haha!
