LJF | 127 comments I'm looking for CLEAN romances where the two main romantic interests have an age difference. Just to be clear, I'm not talking about extremes, like a 16 year old with a 50 year old or something, I'm talking about characters who have around a 5-15 year age difference. (Also, on a side note, maybe stories where the main characters are maybe only a few years apart, but the girl is older.) Any genre is fine, but the younger character should be at least 16 or 17, if not older, and the older should be no older than late 30s-early 40s. Please try to avoid love triangles, and, again, clean stories.

What if it's incest but clean, i.e. never described?

I'm going to second Abigail's suggestions on the Georgette Heyer books. Her stories are always good and they are clean.

Incest? Like really young? No, because that isn't romance- it's not a love story.

The one I was thinking of was incest between mother and son when he was an adult. They were each other's true loves (no one else understood them) but it only lasted a short while and she felt very guilty and confessed to her priest. It was never described in the book.

Excuse me- i mixed up incest and pedophilia. Ut no, I'm sorry, no incest either.

Anabell | 49 comments Noah She is older than him about 8 years. I quite like this one. Its the first in a serie and later on there is another relationship where the female lead is older aswell.

CraftyChara | 2120 comments The Time Traveler's Wife Henry is eight years older than his wife Claire, but he met her when he was forty and she was six. Long story.

slauderdale | 182 comments No Jane Eyre? I don't know specific ages, but quoting one of the characters, "Mr. Rochester was about forty, and this governess not twenty; and you see, when gentlemen of his age fall in love with girls, they are often like as if they were bewitched."

She is not a real widow

Karen | 262 comments Running Barefoot

"When Josie Jensen, an awkward 13-year-old musical prodigy crashes headlong into new-comer Samuel Yazzie, an 18-year-old Navajo boy full of anger and confusion, an unlikely friendship blooms."

Clean and nothing romantic happens until Josie is much older than 18.

Cally | 29 comments There are ‘sex scenes’ but all very PG 13 from what I remember- The Whole Golden World. About a student who falls for her teacher.

Meme | 6 comments Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas is one of my favourite romance books.
Does have some sauce but I think it's waaay more sweet than saucy.

I love that the hero is just a normal guy and is kind to the heroine and isn't an annoying billionaire alpha male who abuses his power.

Meme | 6 comments I can definitely say that The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons is my favourite romance book or just favourite book ever. It has everything I've ever wanted in a book: age gap romance, set in WW2 and most of all has realistic characters and relationships (well as realistic as it can get in fiction).

Tatiana (17) and Alexander's (22) relationship isn't painted as perfect but it's enduring through the heartbreak and that's something to be admired.

Golden Urchin by Madeline Brent is a completely clean adventure romance with an age gap. Also The Catalpa Tree by Denyse Devlin might float ur boat (they don't get together until the heroine is an adult and it's also clean). In romances don't happen until the heroines are adults and both are also really well written and fun to read.
