I got through my recovery from hip replacement ten years ago by reading through a stack of Austenesque novels sent to me by a lovely friend. Don’t remember much about them, anesthesia fumes having fogged my brain, but I did find it a delightful diversion! Expect to do the same this time.
Ha! Yes, this is true. Anesthesia does that to me, too. Oh well, delightful diversion indeed. :)

In my TBR pile I have several works that are in a series, a box-set, or a collection. When you choose one from my list, I am obligating myself to read the set. That should clear out the cobwebs. Here is the best part… I am keeping a copy of this list and will continue to submit it, with each new ‘Someone Else Pick It For Me’ month, until I clear out my dusty TBR pile. I am tired of freezing up every time I try to decide where I want to start. Hey, I think this will be fun. It doesn’t matter where we start… in a few months this list… ‘will be back’… sorry, couldn’t help it.
I am copying the idea of those above who posted books not read from their previous list. I put the average rating from Amazon next to the title which may help in selecting the book I should read. Although some have only one review on which the rating was based: 1. Pride & Prejudice Villains Revisited - Redeemed - Reimagined: A Collection of Six Short Stories 4.4 stars
2. Regret: A Variation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice 2.4
3. Engaged to Mr Darcy: A Pride and Prejudice Continuation 3.7
4. Three Weddings and an Elopement: A Pride and Prejudice Variation 1.5
5. Lost in Love: A Pride and Prejudice Variation4 stars
6. Darcy and Elizabeth: The Faces of Love 4.3
7. A Walk in Oakham Wood: A Pride and Prejudice Variation Novella 3.4
8. Conviction: A Sequel to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice 3.8
9. The Darcy Spirit: A Pride and Prejudice variation 3
Also copying the idea......just needed more pick and found it...A Perpetual Estrangement -Alice B Ryder
Persuaded -Misty Dawn Pulsipher
Mansfield - " " "
Parked at the Mansfields' -Sandy Ward Bell
The suspicion at Sanditon by Carrie Bebris

Ah--one of my favorite movies, Kirk! I remember seeing a double bill once of Dirty Harry and Return of the Dragon and emerging transformed. Who knew how cathartic stylized violence could be? Not this sheltered private-school girl.

Dad, brother, and a bunch of single GI's my mom brought home from the base every holiday meant I saw my fair share of stylized violence. LOL

LOL, actually I shouldn't say every holiday, but some. The ones who really got into TV take over was my dad the coach bringing home his basketball team for some yelling and growling over sports. Yeah, maybe sometime this stuff will show up in a story. :)

I think that is a scream... no pun intended. What a fun place that must have been. Coach Bennet working with a college or pro sports team and he with 5 daughters at home. OMG! I'll stop... sorry.

I hadn't done a message for it yet. Sorry about that, Teresa. I was trying to time it so I could mention the May group wrap up, the June Pick it and announce July's read. However, I have been stumped about the July read idea so my message has not gone out yet... I'll get that sorted out so a group message can go out. :)

Ahhh Sophia! You listed several I rated very high -- and 2 on my all-time favorites list. I'm going with the older of the two:
The Coming of Age of Elizabeth Bennet
Enjoy!
Hi Debbie! I'm glad you made the list under the wire as #7 Jane Austen and Mozart(although not a fan of his music) looks very interesting. Lol..TMI warning...although he is only in my upper part of a classical top ten...I think Bach might be a better choice. Happy reading!!!

Here's how it will work:
Sophia will match people up and leave a comment with a list of who will choose for whom.
When you see the person you are to pick for, then just look at their list in the above comments and leave a new comment with their name and the book you chose for them by May 31st.
You also need to watch and see what book your person chose from your list for you.
You have the rest of the month to read the book.
So if this sounds like something you would like to do, just comment below leaving your name and list of book choices for someone to pick your June book.
