It's hard to pick for you with all the 5-star books (by my reckoning, at least) you have on your list. But I'm going to give you a break from the usual angsty JAFF and choose Chaos Comes to Longbourn: A Pride and Prejudice Variation. Enjoy!

Patricia my dear... I was immediately caught by the flash of that red door and wonder what is behind Jane Austen's door? So you will have to tell us. Enjoy...Behind Jane Austen's Door
Kristin I'm picking for you, The scenes Jane Austen never wrote: First anniversaries. Sounds really interesting and I'll be looking forward to your views on it.
Teresa wrote: "Kristin I'm picking for you, The scenes Jane Austen never wrote: First anniversaries. Sounds really interesting and I'll be looking forward to your views on it."Thanks Teresa, I look forward to reading it :)

Thank you! Thank you!
That is a book I bought soon after it came out; read the first pages; discovered Darcy engaged to LYDIA!!! and gave up on it completely. I've read the reviews and everyone loved it and still I just push it to the back of the pile.
I've got my mandate now -- bravely on to see how Darcy escapes this marriage!
Oh, the interactions between Darcy and clueless Lydia are really, really humorous. I think you'll enjoy it as you get into it! The writing, as with all of her books, is splendid.
Kirk, I know quite a few musicians who wouldn't list Mozart tops on their favorites list, so you're not THAT alone! However, pretty much everyone agrees that if Mozart lived in our times, he would definitely be a rock and roller, not a classical musician, and that's part of why I love him! Bach would still be writing serious music for orchestras, no matter what era he lived in, I think.I've got a ton of unread books too, but they're all on my Kindle. The one you chose is literally the only JAFF I own that's a physical book. It's not available as an ebook, and the title intrigued me enough to chase it down. Again, thanks for picking it!

Abigail I pick for you The Jane Austen Project

Of your five, Teresa, I've only read one, so I'm picking that for you as I'd love to see your thoughts on it. That one is Leap of Hope by Shannon Winslow. Enjoy!
Hi Kirk! My pick for you is The Suspicion at Sanditon. I've read a few from the series and really liked them. Happy reading!!
Anna wrote: "Hi Kirk! My pick for you is The Suspicion at Sanditon. I've read a few from the series and really liked them. Happy reading!!"Hi Anna...Thanks so much!!!!! Cheers!
Patricia wrote: "Sheila for you I choose Lost in ove. I have it on my tbr pile too and it appeals to me . :)"Is that Lost in Love? Thanks for the selection.
Anna wrote: "Looking forward to taking part in this again! I'm using my list from last time, but just replacing the one I read with a new title.1. Pemberley Haunted by Jessica L. Jackson
2. Murder & Matchmaki..."
Anna, for you I pick Villa Fortuna - Pride, Prejudice, and a Haircut by Cat Gardiner...5 star read for me. It is a modern variation of P&P.
Thanks, Sheila! That's the last Cat Gardiner book I have to read, and I can't wait. I've loved all her others.
I know you will love this one also. She has captured a certain culture/ethnic group in NYC in this book.
Sheila wrote: "I know you will love this one also. She has captured a certain culture/ethnic group in NYC in this book."I bet I will. I've heard nothing but great things about it.
Kristin! Thank you so much for your pick! I enjoyed the show, so I hope the book is just as engaging.J.W., for you I pick "On Oakham Mount". I hope you love it!
Victoria, thank you for your pick. I've been looking forward to that one... plus the 1.5 that follows... Beyond Oakham Mount. As per my list... I will read both. That will be 2 off of my TBR pile. I'll let you know how this goes. Have a blessed reading time in June.
Erika, my apologies! Once again I got dropped off this thread by Goodreads before the matches were announced, and totally forgot to look for it! For you I’d like to pick Fair Winds and Homeward Sail, by a new fave author of mine, Sherwood Smith. I just downloaded it onto my Kindle yesterday, so if I get the chance I’ll read it this month too, and we can compare notes. And Lenora, thank you for your pick of The Jane Austen Project! That one really got my attention recently, and I’m sure I’ll have fun with it.
Victoria... I've finished my June 'Someone-else-pick-it-for-me' choice. Thank you for picking those for me. That is 2 off my TBR pile. They were really dusty and I like that there were now vacant spots on my pile. Unfortunately, I immediately filled them with new books that I came across. Oh man, that is so not cool. One step forward and two or three steps back. Although, I am looking forward to the new choices... so it's a win-win situation. Thanks again for participating and helping me out.
J W my daughter and I brought some books to the charity shop on Friday as I was just so running out of space. Unfortunately we both came out with armfuls of more!! So that purpose was well and truly defeated :):)
Teresa-I'm laughing at the image of you dropping off loads of books and heaving a huge sigh of contentment, secure, for a little while,in the knowledge that you'd lots of space on your bookshelves........if only you and your daughter hadn't listened to the voices of those other books, calling out to you, looking for a new home......!!! We've all been there!! Guess we just have to accept that it's part of what makes us book lovers!!!
Teresa, I'm with Mary, I can see that picture in my head so clearly because it has been me also. We have a program here called 'Friends of the Library' where people donate things [books, DVDs, etc.] and then they have several sales throughout the year. The money is then used toward literacy programs through the local Library. I've make myself NOT go because I can't resist the books section. I just have to admit... I'm weak.
For Christmas, my brother gave me this huge bag. He said he was at the library and saw these ladies walking out with their arms loaded with books and he thought of me. Now, when I go to the Library, I have a bag in which I can carry my books. Wasn't that thoughtful?
It doesn't help my ever climbing TBR pile; however, it saves my arms. LOL!!
:):) Thoughtful guy J W!! I get Amazon vouchers for my birthday and Christmas. The guys here say they couldn't be listening to all the sobbing if I didn't get them :):) Because these two occasions in my life are so close, my husband randomly buys me one or two during the year as well. Seventh Heaven doesn't even begin to describe it!!

Even though I have most of my recent buys on my Kindle...it too has many books I have not read. Plus I have all those older JAFF paperback books which I read but never posted a review on and so plan to reread them...some day. I can also be distracted if a book is not mesmerizing me to pick up another book so I have 2 going at once.
Jeanne, the 'Friends of the Library' sounds like a great idea....as long as you're not their best customer when it comes to the sales!!! What a lovely gesture to give you a bag to hold all your books!!
I treated myself to a lovely purple (my favourite colour) Pride and Prejudice bag that I bring to work everyday with me. I love it!

I have a bag from the Annual Meeting in NYC which is large and with a zipper so nothing falls out.
Anna wrote: "Hi Kirk! My pick for you is The Suspicion at Sanditon. I've read a few from the series and really liked them. Happy reading!!"Thank you Anna! After a slow start, this one was spooky in a good way. Some readers didn't enjoy the ending...for me it was one of the best of this and many years!!!!!(my inner Marianne is getting abit carried away.. yea!!!)
Patricia, I read and posted a review on Lost in Love: A Pride and Prejudice Variation...thank you for selecting it for me for my June read.
Mary... I love purple!! Teresa, that brother's wife gives me Amazon Gift Cards for Christmas and I give her one too. We both laugh when we open the cards. The rest of the family thinks we are nuts
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cACb... When I am old....I will wear purple...watch the poet read her poem.
Sheila, thanks for sharing that. She was adorable. I loved the hats shown on the side. I have a thing for hats.
I have found purple goes very well with my graying and/or white hair. Many people have agreed with that.

I gave it 5 stars and here's my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
So glad you enjoyed it, Erika, and thank you for the excellent review! I have yet to get around to it, as I am plowing through five different group reads for June. Looking forward to it even more now!I hope this inspires more people to read the Austenesque and period novels of Sherwood Smith, which are deep and thoughtful and insightful.

Well, I do love Bach too, Kirk, and even got to sing in two choruses performing his gorgeous German Requiem in 2012 and 2015. But I admit that I love Mozart even more. I've had Jane Austen and Mozart: Classical Equilibrium in Fiction and Music sitting on my bookshelf- an actual hardcover book!- for a couple of months but just haven't gotten to it. Looks like I'll get to it in June! Great choice!
