Starting a fire, how hard can it be when...

...there already is one?
So the one thing (among a few) that really bothered me about this book, was the trouble with second fire. WHY on earth would he use his flint to make the second fire on the bridge if there is a fire right next to him? Huge oversight. Finally Evenlyn figures it out, but it didn't seem like a "she's a genius" moment, but more like a "sheesh, finally these stupid kids figured it out" moment.

Was anyone else bothered by this?
