Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 907 comments JoAnne, I appreciate that so much! I've learned this year that I need a few open-ended challenges to relax with, because I tend to be competitive even with myself to finish deadline challenges on time. And I tend to collect quite a few of them that end up being due at similar times. Not always easy to balance it all! So the open-ended ones, I have decided, are to be relaxing treats for me. Thank you for creating fun options to choose from in the open-endeds you offer.

Thanks! I hope that you are getting enough time on the other challenges. The only challenges that I really care about the time limits are the monthly challenges since they repeat.

This is my plan for 2019 as well! Especially with challenges where I am on a team I feel like I own it to my teammates to get through all the books and so I end up reading things but hating it or putting an audiobook on that I don't truly give my attention to just to get it done. I'm gonna restart this one in January I think because I don't even remember when or where my start post is

message 1004: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 907 comments JoAnne, yes, I am getting enough time. I have challenges in four different groups, including TLC, so that's where the deadlines may be so similar and tough to balance. But I've figured out when to trim back or not take on any additional ones, and when to allow myself to miss those last one or two books... and accept it gracefully. I love the challenge of fitting all the books in! I'm very deadline-oriented, so it's a dare I love taking on.

I quit doing team challenges. I feel the same as you and it bothered me that the others on the team weren't giving it their all like I was. Plus now I have this group so I'd rather put time in here.
