Babs | 258 comments Just finished reading Betsy Small's Poems of Awakening

During a vacation at the beach I took the time to explore Betsy Small's Poems of Awakening, a collection of wonderfully poignant poems that will captivate the heart and soul.

The book is, as the title implies an "awakening". This anthology gives ownership to no particular religious or philosophical persuasion, rather it is a richly painted landscape created by an array of poets who design a sense of unity and harmony within themselves and a oneness with creation. As a reader each of us is invited to do the same; to explore our inner most desire for spiritual awakening and to touch that part of us that too often left unexplored; our authentic self.

Personally, for this reader, the two sections which held the most insight were; "A Deep Quiet-Stillness" and "Light and Healing and Renewal". Realizing how important it is to slow down long enough to enjoy life's experiences. An overall inspiring book that both poet lovers and novices can enjoy and find inspiration for having read.

message 1423: by Babs (new)

Babs | 258 comments If you go to Amazon you will note that they will go through Random House for the paperback...I guess they act as an intermediary...for Random House on thie book. Amazon takes your order, relays it and Random House sends you the book at an agreed upon price they offer Amazon users.

Babs | 258 comments I do believe in miracles; face it life is a miracle and many of the everyday things we taken for granted...but I don't like it when folks play it up...make it unrealistic..does that make sense. Miracle happen everyday in quiet ways...all the splash that people engage in ruins them.

I don't think I explained that too well..but maybe you'll get the idea.
