What are you reading?

Wasnt there a movie about that as well Katie?

I am on my 104 book for the year 2010 and my goal is 120 before the end of the year, but hopefully, I will surpass that and keep right on reading! It has been a VERY productive year, reading wise!

I love the Mary Russell/Sherlock Holmes series, too, Anna. I envy you being on the 3rd one. I've read them all and must wait until King writes another one. Oh, with Gabaldon's Outlander series, which I've read all of and was bummed when I finished the last one like you, there is a good bit of news. Gabaldon's graphic novel form of The Outlander, told from Jamie's point of view, will be out Sept. 25th.

Kathy, I can't wait to hear what you think. I'm just about ready to buy this book and would love to hear your thoughts :)

I read this awhile back and it was really good but I just didn't like some things.

I am still reading The Alienist!!! I am about 45% into it but the book club meeting is tomorrow. Oh well, it is a good book but I just have been too crazed to really sit down and read!

I loved Sarah's story but I think that Julia's story was just bleh! I would have liked it to focus more on Sarah.

Yeah, so far I'm just a tad bit frustrated with Julia.

Loved The Alienist , I had to read it in college and I just re-read it this spring! You should check outThe Angel of Darkness which is the follow up book to The Alienist.

My stepmom and her mom both read and loved American Wife and insisted I take a copy home with me during the last visit. I'm less than thrilled about reading it though. What do you think about it so far?

I really like it so far. I am only about 150 pages in, but I am finding it very readable and the characters are interesting. I keep finding myself trying to decide who Charlie Blackwell is patterned after, which may be no one, but I am still trying to fit the character into some sort of mold.

Buy it!! Great book! So many things that I found out about that I never knew... that were never taught in our history classes.

I love the Adriana Franklin series! I can't wait for the next one to come out!

No, I just wasn't clear - I'm waiting for it to come out in paperback :)

Kat, I highly recommend this book! It never ceases to amaze me that no matter how much I think I've read about the Holocaust, there is still more horror and cruelty to learn about. This book brings France's collaboration with the Nazis to the shocking forefront.

Meth is indeed a monster that affects so many innocent lives as well as the addicted. This books brings us up to date on Kristina, the children she birthed (not mothered), and the "fallout" of her addiction. I'm only a fourth of the way through it, but it is making an impression already.

I so agree Kathy! This book was wonderful. One of my all time favorites!

I bought this one Wednesday at Border's. I was surprised because I didn't think it came out until next week, but the clerk said it came out early. What? Diana Gabaldon with an earlier than planned publication date and minimized text! Will wonders never cease? LOL!

Ohhhh toooo true! Did you know that Diana Gabaldon wrote for Disney comics? I used to work for Disney, and I had nooo idea!

I read Mistress of Mellyn when many years ago and remembered really liking it. Grave Goods is a favorite of mine, in a favorite series of mine.

I remember reading Mistress of Mellyn a long time ago, too. I really liked all of Victoria Holt's gothic romances.
As for Belong to Me, I loved that book. Have you read the first one yet? It is called Love Walked In and it is also good.

Hunt that nephew down (yes, pun intended in keeping with the books) and reclaim your books, Donna. I didn't think I would like these books, but I love, love them.
