Yeah, I can't decide - it's so 50/50 for me. I want her to be with Peeta because we all know how much he wanted her to live, and he at least talks to her. The stuff he did for her prior to the Hunger Games was also so sweet! On the other hand, I really imagine Gale to be the stronger male type, and Katniss could really use that too. She's a survivor, but being able to let go and not have to worry about survival (as in knowing that someone else is capable of making sure that you/your family can survive) would also be nice.
Then again, I think that being the survivor (and taking care of the weaker) is just the type of person that Katniss is, and not needing to be the survivor could be bad.
Oooohhhhh, I want to say more, but I don't want to overly ruin anything for those who haven't yet read the books...
Did you know that you guys can start a new topic called Buddy read of Hunger games series, or whatever you want to call it, and discuss to your hearts content without worrying about spoiling it for others. That way you don't have to hold back on your comments.
I let my nephew borrow Catching Fire and Hunger Games and have yet to get it back. I may need to make a detour on the way home thins week!
Donna, you do! Rest assured, you do have time. Each book only took me a day or two to read, and the third book doesn't come out until the 24th, if I'm not mistaken. :)
Finishing up Blood Harvest finally in mintues and thus will start 2 more:
The Zahir by Paulo Coelho and a quickie YA After by Amy Efaw (cause it's due back from the library soon enough)

I will be interested in what you think of Anna K. Lyn, I'll definitely let you know! It might take a while though, it's so thick! haha :)
I'm reading a non-fiction Elizabeth & Leicester: Power, Passion, Politics by Sarah Gristwood and Shanghai Girls by Lisa See. So far, both are excellent :)

I don't want to give it away to anyone who hasn't read it or spoil your reading, so just let me know if you liked the ending or not. I was a little bit unhappy with it, but I loved the book.
Lyn M wrote: "Kathy - which one did you not like the ending of? Just curious."Blood Harvest was the Bolton book in which I didn't like the ending. I just didn't see the point in one of the aspects of it.
I am starting Cranberry Queen by Kathleen DeMarco today which was a recommendation from both Jennifer and Colleen.

I sent ya back an email. I can tell you that the book was a little dragged but it was good. The ending was simply disturbing! I would love to hear your thoughts. Do you want to create a thread? Or we can simply do it via PM

As per our PMs, I am glad to see that you agree with me about the ending. I didn't have any problems at all with the Bolton I just finished, [book:Awakening, and loved her first one, too, Sacrifice. I checked her Web site, and her one coming out next May sounds disturbingly delicious.
I never read it (surprisingly) and I didn't see the movie either so let me know if it is truly worth it, Jo.
Lyn M wrote: "Heather, I've heard that one is really good is a creepy sort of way."I'm about 2/3 through and it is creepy. I guess it's the first in a trilogy.
So - is it Salem's Lot, The Shining creepy, or the original Frankenstein creepy. The second one I can deal with, but Stephen King just creeps me out. I can't read him.
Thanks Jo. Salem's Lot really creeped me out, but I do like some creepy stuff. I may have to give it a try.
So I forgot The Zahir at home so I need a book for the commute home so I figured I will start on The Forgotten Garden since i have the book here at work.

I have all of these books clambering for my attention right now. If I start it soon, I'll try to remember and check back with you. Either way, I'd love to know if you like it.
It is a pretty big book but I feel it moves quickly so I am sure I will run thru it. I hope you get to it soon so we can discuss!
Heather, I really liked the Deliverance Dane book. If it is similar to The Forgotten Garden, I need to get that one read.
"Read Me - I Am Magical" - first subliminal self help book!

It still hasn't arrived, Jo. I checked my order status, and it had the estimated arrival date of Saturday, the 28th, a full five days after the publication date. I only pre-ordered it from Amazon because I thought that they were really good about getting best selling new publications out right away. I have sent them a disgruntled email, which they probably won't care about, but it did make me feel just a bit better, but not much.
That is wierd, Kathy. I always pre-order from Amazon, and it always arrives on the release day. I will be interested to hear what they have to say about why it wasn't.
Well.. I haven't been busy on here in a while because I have just been plain busy in life. I did read
and loved it. A very easy read but a real page turner at the same time. I was so into it that as soon as I finished the last page, I bought the second one in the series
on my kindle! Each book only took about 2 weeks to read through. I really wanted to read the third one
, but the kindle edition was just too expensive and I am going to have to wait till it drops in price a little. The series starts out with a teenage girl who gets pulled into other's dreams. Over time she finds allies, a love interest, and a fullfilling job that helps her live with this gift.
Then I read
, which was a great read as well. I found it to be a wonderful introduction to a lot of the Tudor era people. It is told from Mary Howard's point of view and goes through her whole life living in and out of the Tudor court. Once I finished that book I picked up my goodreads book
. I am really struggling through this book. I read the reviews on it and I feel so inadequate because I am really not enjoying as much as the other readers have. It started out very intriguing and kept me interested, but lately it just seems like the diary of a much too understanding wife and her very whiny, lazy husband.
ThatWelcom back! First that Series looks good I may just add it to my TBR. Second, I hear so much about the Tudor worls so you say this a good place to start? Finally, that sucks! I hate it when I struggle to get thru a book and this was one that you've won on GR? Don't finish it and say that in your review. Not everyone likes the same book.
Lyn M wrote: "That is wierd, Kathy. I always pre-order from Amazon, and it always arrives on the release day. Next time, I'll go to the bookstore for a newly published book I really want.
I am two thirds of the way through a thriller by a new (to me) author. It is called Immoral by Brian Freeman. As I said, I am most of the way through it and I am still guessing about what really happened and who is the killer. I have thought I knew about 3 times so far, but I keep changing my mind. That gives it a thumbs up in my book.
