LOL! Our oldest son prefers video games and won't read unless we threaten him with loss of something or he feels the pressure from school. But the girls love to read, especially the younger one who will be 7 next month, which makes me really proud. My wife loves reading but it consumes her so that she always feels she needs to be doing other things and usually will wait a month or so to read the next one. I wish I could change her opinion on that - I don't mind if she reads!

That's good. My husband doesn't read but he loves when I do. I always gives me time and space to read. My kids are way to young. My oldest is only 21 months but she loves her books. She take very good care of them and has plenty. She does get very excited when she sees books.

I loved the Count of Monte Cristo!!! I hope that you enjoy it too. I'm currently reading The Three Musketeers... not as awesome as The Count, but not bad. :)
I've heard many many good things about Dumas and I love classics to begin with. I'm definitely going to get to those in time.
I finished up Blindness over the weekend and started Everything is Illuminated. Liking it!

I can't remember if I've already posted, but I've been trying to read Love in the Time of Cholera. I can't get into it. School's started back up again and my class load is ridiculous, so I think that's part of it, but still. Anyone read it?

Hmmm...I've heard it was good but I have yet to go there. I've heard his writing is a bit confusing. I know when I am really busy I have trouble getting into certain types of books.

It's on my TBR as well. I just recently brought it so I will takel it some time soon. School started up for me as well and between family work and school I have a huge workload but luckily I have a long commute.
How about you? When do you get time to read?

OK so I started The Elegance of the Hedgehog this morning and I don't hate it. I am liking it thus far (not loving, liking). I have about 30 pages left on The Angel's Game but I didn't wanna carry too many books with me to work today so I will finish it out when I get home and the kiddies are alseep. I loved it thus far. Let's hope the ending doesn't ruin it forme. But so far a 5 starer!

Holy cow!

So far this semester, I've only had a few breaks between classes & work to read. I don't think this book was meant to be read that way lol, BUT, I'm going to be staying at a cabin at a ski resort this weekend, so hopefully I'll be doing nothing but snowboarding & reading!!! Homework can wait till Monday :P
Donna your schedule sounds even crazier!
I thought Extras was better than the second and third. I still think Uglies was the best one.
When I rate YA's I usually rate them thru my YA mind.

Mystery: Heat Wave by Richard Castle
Non -fiction: The Lady in the Tower by Alison Weir
Historical Fiction: The Sunne in Splendour by Sharon Kay Penman
1001: July's People by Nadine Gordimer
I really wish I could do that. I sometimes, but very rarely, read 2 books at one time. But that's even too much for me LOL unless you want to include pleaseure reading with text books then I can def do more than one!

Finished up with Everything Is Illuminated: A Novel over the weekend and started The Chrysalids.
I'll be starting our group read mid week.

One of my favorites...right up there with The Power of One
That's good. I just started it and I am kinda losing focus but I am only on page 17 so I really can't say much.
I'm reading Catcher in the Rye. Maybe because I know it is one of the most read books in the 20th century I had it in my brain that I read it back in grade school. But since I don't remember a damn thing about it that can't be true. So far it is living up to the hoopla but not even close to what I was expecting!
I will be reading it sometime next month. I remember Having to read it in JHS but, like you, I can't remember anything about it!

Cool, I'll be interested to hear what you think. I'm about halfway in and have no idea where it is going, but I am nevertheless very intrigued.

I totally hear ya but with School!!!! I get most of my reading done either on the train or bus for the commute and when the kiddies are sleeping.
JEEZ!!! I am still reading Empire of the Sun. It is taking me some time. It's a good book it's just been one of those weeks. I also received a copy of The Poacher's Son in the mail. It is an ARC from B&N. So now I gotta push that one forward! So many obligations!

My husband put my book, The Poacher's Son, somewhere and now I can't find it so I had to start The Boy in the Striped Pajamas because I left all my other books at work.

I started Cutting for Stone this past weekend and its really an origial story set in Ethiopia about a set of abandoned conjoined twins raised in a missionary hospital.
I'll be reading that in a week or so. Everyone says it's good!
Right now I am just getting into As I Lay Dying.
