message 116: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (tessa_ioana) | 1861 comments A few questions:

Can either of these 2 books be considered a summer read:
The Scent of Rain and Lightning by Nancy Pickard Wildlife by Fiona Wood ?

For DNF titles (this is a little subjective).
A lot of my friends DNF Prisoner of Night and Fog (Prisoner of Night and Fog, #1) by Anne Blankman , yet I still want to give this one a try. Can it be used for the DNF list?

For the element on cover, is either of this titles ok: Sterling (Mageri, #1) by Dannika Dark and Night Road by Kristin Hannah (element: air)

Thank you! :)

message 118: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Tessa - Wildlife is fine for summer read.
Sterling and night road count for element, and the scent of rain and lightening could count for that too.
I'll allow Prisoner of night and fog, since a lot of my GR friends have marked it as DNF too.

Hanna Mata (hkrivin1) Tuesday's Child (Psychic Visions, #1) by Dale Mayer does this work for elemental?

In that case, you can read something from my shelf instead. :)

Can we use one book for more than one bookish block?

message 125: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Shantavia wrote: "Can we use one book for more than one bookish block?"

No, you can only cross off one block per book.

message 128: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90920 comments Mod
Usually we give people at least 24 hours, then we'll start looking at who doesn't seem to be participating. We've done the teams early this time so that we hopefully can sort out any issues before the challenge starts.
You're on the bookish blocks thread at the moment though, not the hangman ;)

message 129: by Hannelore (new)

Hannelore (stronghandstoholdgoodfriends) | 309 comments Do you mean by a book on your hangman's patners shelf just any book they've ever listed, no matter if its a TBR or already read or...?

Yes, any book they've added. :)

Noella (kookiemonstar) | 3613 comments Can I use a book for Be brave which is shelved "did-not-finish" rather than "DNF"

Would (the diviners: https://www.goodreads.com/work/shelve...) qualify with 26 people shelving it "did-not-finish"?

Kate ★ (spillsandspoils) | 973 comments Hello. Can you please suggest some YA books that starts with my initial? :( I found only one and I can't even find a copy of the book :(

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Kate wrote: "Hello. Can you please suggest some YA books that starts with my initial? :( I found only one and I can't even find a copy of the book :("

Kissed by an Angel (Kissed by an Angel, #1-3) by Elizabeth Chandler - Really good series! Not sure if you can get the first on it's own, but if you had the series you could just read the first one and submit Kissed by an Angel (Kissed by an Angel, #1) by Elizabeth Chandler .

If you've read a few Pretty little liars books -
Killer (Pretty Little Liars, #6) by Sara Shepard

If you've read a few morganville books - Kiss of Death (The Morganville Vampires, #8) by Rachel Caine

Kill You Last (Thrillogy, #3) by Todd Strasser - Think these can be read on their own.

Killer Instinct by S.E. Green

Kiss of Frost (Mythos Academy, #2) by Jennifer Estep - Second in series.

I'll try and find a few more for you. :)

It doesn't matter if you're in the challenge. If you see a book on the "clean your shelves - bookshelves" thread, you can read/buddy read it and submit it.

message 147: by Presiana (new)

Presiana (pressie) | 418 comments For the 'New Release'.. I can't find a book which is published in the last 4 weeks because all books in my country need time to be translated. For example I'm still waiting for CoHF, which I'll probably buy tomorrow... so I don't know how to find a book which fits in this category...
And is there a way I could receive an ARC from somewhere except netgallery/edelweiss?

Life is wasted on the living [Elena] | 33 comments I'm not sure about the new releases, but I know that a lot of new authors give away free e-book copies of their books for people on Goodreads to read and review, so you could try that :)

message 149: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90920 comments Mod
You could try Smashwords Presiana, they often have new releases for free if you don't mind self-published books? What sort of genres do you like?
