I requested Den of Shadows but wasn't approved. Sounds like they did me a favour.

It is odd though because that publisher usually approves any of my requests and was actively looking for reviewers for that one on Twitter. Wonder what I've done to end up on their reject list.

Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for it, but me and this book could not hit it off at all. The writing was very good, but it was extremely slow-paced and I just couldn't get into the spirit of it. I felt it tried to be all genres to all readers and could not pull it off.

It's funny when that happens. Leviathan by Scott Westerfield was like that for me - I just couldn't get the words to stick in my head and make sense.

I've heard such great things about it and I really wanted to love it but I just couldn't understand it! I kept going back to the start and re-reading!
So glad to hear I'm not the only one Nicole.
