Sarah Winters | 129 comments Read this about 5-10 years ago. Possibly a short story. The story was told from the POV of a man (possibly a soldier - he was with a group) who was on a planet where it rained all the time. He was not from this planet. Because of the rain, all the plants were white because the color was leached out of them. The man was very depressed being on this planet. Thanks for any leads!

Empress (the_empress) | 224 comments Could it be The Long Rain ?

"The white, white jungle with the pale cheese-colored leaves,..."

Melanti | 330 comments "The Long Rain" would be my guess too.

You can find it in The Illustrated Man or R Is for Rocket, and some editions of A Sound of Thunder and Other Stories or The Golden Apples of the Sun.

rivka How interesting. It sounds thematically related to All Summer In a Day, also by Bradbury.

Melanti | 330 comments Yep. Both set on Venus, as I recall.

Bradbury tended to re-use ideas & themes over and over again. I think that's one of the things that let him be so prolific.
