Heels Over Head by Elyse Springer and Intercepting the Chef (How to Score, #1) by Rachel Goodman

I don't know your genre, so my bonus pick is uninformed, but was recently recommended to me: Think of England (Think of England, #1) by K.J. Charles

Hi Marty!

I pick: Jane Slayre The Literary Classic with a Blood-Sucking Twist by Sherri Browning Erwin because it sounded really intriguing, and I love creative retellings!

I also picked The House Where it Happened by Martina Devlin because the timeframe sounded really interesting.

For your preferred genre, I suggest The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller because it is one of my favorite historical fiction books, and has some fantasy elements included.

Enjoy!

With the month already in full swing, and ~Michelle~ already selecting twice for you, I'm going to step in and say that she need not pick for you a third time, Theo, even though she offered to do so. Having to go through anyone's shelves to find what they haven't read is asking a lot of someone. Perhaps if you list Science Fiction as your preferred genre again, you would consider adding a shelf that your picker could go to to make a selection for you, if they need inspiration, as Science Fiction is pretty broad on its own. I'll be adding that suggestion for next month's challenge for sure!

I'm fine with not getting a preferred genre pick, but I feel like creating two shelves for this challenge is too much. We create our dusty bookshelf to have picks from and then we should create another shelf for our preferred genre to come from? I'd rather not have the preferred genre pick at all.

message 96: by ⚜️XAR (last edited May 07, 2017 05:09PM) (new)

I was referring to having a shelf set up on your My Books page, and linking to it in your post, not a secondary shelf in the thread. I've got an example set up in my May DB post, in message 6 of this thread. But once you get to the point where you have thousands of books on your read shelf, it gets difficult to find what you haven't read! (I'm in that situation myself, and my preferred genre is like your own with literally tens of thousands of books to select from.)

The challenge is not mine, this is Ezi's challenge, I just step in and run it for her from time to time if she asks me to. The preferred genre will remain, so long as she decides to run the challenge that way. You can, however, post your shelf and state that you do not wish a preferred genre pick.

Theo | 1929 comments ~Michelle~ and ⚜Trea⚜

I wanted to apologize to you both because I'm not sure where my brain has been for the past few days. I somehow mixed up The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner with The 5th Wave (The 5th Wave, #1) by Rick Yancey , which is the book that I read last month for this challenge. They are two completely different books, and I have no idea why my brain was seeing one thing and typing another. I haven't read The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner , so that works great. Thanks! The following posts could have been avoided if my brain was working correctly. I'm so sorry for all of my confusion.

Boy, do I know how that feels!

I had blood work last week, and more tests this week, because I'm having some funky ups and downs medically. Since the docs haven't figured out what's wrong yet, they can't treat me, so I'm stuck feeling like poodoo!
