SOLVED. Looking for a book about a girl in art school

I'm new to this group. I'm trying to find the name of a book I read in high school. Its about a girl who goes to an art school and meets a guy with an afro. I don't remember the name of the book or the author. All I remember is that she drew nude pictures and made a giant lady bug as one of her assignments. I really want to read this book again because I remember it was a great book. Any help would be much appreciated.
