I'm reading Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell , which will probably take the whole challenge because it will be interrupted by my many one book a week challenges but it will get us a lot of points when I finally finish!

Andrea (deja05) | 732 comments I'll be reading A Gentleman in Moscow for the BOM next. I have another mystery book going too.

I remmeber reading this in high school and thinking Scarlet a fool. Aside from that I can't remember any other details. I also read the 2nd book and I still thought her a bit strange. I don't remember why. Maybe one of these days I'll reread the books and find out what I reallly think of her character.

Joining this one too! Been putting off thid book for sometime now and well bonis points for TT are good enough incentive to prod me :)

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments I am have put my name down for the Strange the Dreamer (Strange the Dreamer, #1) by Laini Taylor BOM. I have had the ARC forever and still not quite gotten to reading it so planning on so it seemed good timing. Currently reading Sweetness and Light (Sweet Cove Mystery #5) by J.A. Whiting as well as Dorothy Must Die (Dorothy Must Die, #1) by Danielle Paige

I am also planning on trying to read Etched in Bone (The Others, #5) by Anne Bishop this week as that is another read i have had sitting (literally) n my bookshelf since it came out waiting for me to read it.

i finished The Witness by Nora Roberts a couple of days ago and really enjoyed it (surprisingly so) but I was a bit bummed because at 496 pages, it was 5 pages off being 60 points as opposed to 40 LOL

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments Funny how 5 pages didn't seem a big deal before TT! I just finished Shadowbound (Dark Arts, #1) by Bec McMaster , still reading In the Woods (Dublin Murder Squad, #1) by Tana French and One Fell Sweep (Innkeeper Chronicles, #3) by Ilona Andrews and maybe start on Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4) by Marissa Meyer tomorrow. I want to finish In the Woods fast but I have to pace myself or else I'll be dreaming of nasty stuff. Tana French is bloody good.

I think my favorite Nora Roberts book is Homeport by Nora Roberts . I read it way back in HS and I have stood by it as my favorite NR book. She's a comfort read.

Cant wait to hear ypur thoughts on the last Others book. Let's talk about it aftet you're done.

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments What books did you vote for next month's BOM? I hope Red Sister (Book of the Ancestor, #1) by Mark Lawrence gets voted for Fantasy.

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments I just saw on another thread that the ff books won for June BOM
The Gunslinger (The Dark Tower, #1) by Stephen King The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas You (You, #1) by Caroline Kepnes

Not even one of the books I voted for won *sigh*

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments I think I voted for the gunslinger as it's been a while since I started the series and never finished it so I will probably put my name down for it.

Also nearly bought a gunslinger tShirt that popped up on teefury today

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments Stephen King is well loved by many. Unfortunately, I'm one of the few that can't read his books lol. Not one of the BOMs interests me so I think I'll just read all BOMs for this month to compensate at least.

Mint Tea (the-unknown) | 134 comments Yey! Finally got through with The Circle. The lack of chapter breaks (as i call it) kind of dragged my reading speed to a slower speed. Ready for a new book to read. Yey again!

I was hoping for that one to win too! I'm not a Stephen King fan. But I'll read the other two BOM books though. I've heard good things about The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

Yeah that was an interesting book. The ending I though was rushed but the premise was scary and so relevant to how we interact with technology and people today. The lack of chapter breaks actually made me read faster because I couldn't decide where to stop.

Maybe nominate it again for July BOMs and hope it will win that time around.

I'll read it after I finish In the Woods. I don't think my heart can take too much suspense!

It's a great read, The Circle is! Some perspectives you'd see there ;)

I think fool is a really great way to describe scarlet, especially at the beginning. She does grow a lot as it goes if the movie is accurate but this is my first time reading. It feels like a pretty fast read even though it's long so that's nice.

message 121: by [deleted user] (new)

I need to get to the circle. The premise is so interesting and I want to read before I watch the movie.

Mint Tea (the-unknown) | 134 comments Hi! I'd like to ask how I was not able to have points for the BOM participation in the spreadsheet? And if there's anything I could do to have it? Thank you!

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments Hey Mint, the BOM points are done manually by myself or Pongothai. So next time I am on the spreadsheet I will assign

I can't read him either.

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments I was a huge Stephen king fan when I was younger and read most of his older stuff. I haven't read much of his newer stuff though ( from The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon by Stephen King on wards)

Marybeth (narutofan14) | 262 comments I've been traveling in North Carolina for a couple of days so i haven't been able to do a lot of reading but I was able to make a lot of progress with A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #2) by Sarah J. Maas today and will probably get through a few more chapters tonight and tomorrow hopefully. I will have a few events to go to over the next couple of days but I will probably get to a normal reading schedule on Monday when I get back home hopefully. I will probably start The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon next. :)

message 128: by Fajriy (new)

Fajriy Currently reading The Undelightened (The Undelightened, #1) by Bentz Deyo and probably The Two Towers (The Lord of the Rings, #2) by J.R.R. Tolkien or Situation Momedy A First-Time Mom's Guide To Laughing Your Way Through Pregnancy & Year One by Jenna Von Oy next.

I lived kind of deep in the mountains way back in HS and rarely go to the city. I only got my books from the school library which was mostly stocked with them Reader's Digest Condensed Books and because my options were limited I was able to read Gone with the Wind. I read a lot of Victoria Holt too courtesy of RD Condensed books. Reader's Digest loved Victoria Holt! I felt like I've read all her earlier works because of it.

message 130: by [deleted user] (new)

I remember those readers digest books! Can't say I have read any Victoria Holt though.

Amy the book-bat (batkisses) | 914 comments Listening to Norse Mythology today. I <3 Neil Gaiman! He was so nice when I met him.

message 132: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm so jealous you got to meet him! He's an awesome writer. Very cool that he's nice too :)

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments I've only started reading Neil Gaiman last year. SO far I have read 2 of his works. I tried to read American Gods but I couldn't get into it. I wasn't in the mood for it so I didn't finish. I'll pick it up one of these days again.

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments I FINALLY got my copy of The Song Rising (The Bone Season, #3) by Samantha Shannon . I pre-ordered the original covers but Book Depository ran out of stock or so they say and then emailed me after about 3 weeks saying they have it afterall. And it's signed. If they do this with every release of the book I'll be broke. Why did they have to change the covers!

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments The only Neil Gaiman book I have read is The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman though think about buying Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman when I was in the book shop earlier in the day.

Instead I bought Moon Over Soho (Peter Grant, #2) by Ben Aaronovitch and The Gunslinger (The Dark Tower, #1) by Stephen King

message 136: by kat (wanderfulbooks) (last edited May 13, 2017 09:41PM) (new)

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments The Graveyard book is my 2nd Gaiman and I absolutely loved it! I'm thinking of getting Norse Mythology too as it sounds interesting!

I started A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles for BOM points.

Amy the book-bat (batkisses) | 914 comments I met Neil Gaiman in Minneapolis after he gave a speech at the Sigma Tau Delta (English Honor Society) convention. He started signing books at 9 pm and it was after midnight by the time my friend and I made it to the table. He was very gracious and would sign whatever we wanted (no limits as to number) and he was joking around with us and drew pictures in our books to go with his autograph. My copy of The Graveyard Book is signed with a tombstone picture drawn by him. He is also fun to follow on Twitter because sometimes he hangs out with his fans on different websites and plays with us (when he is supposed to be writing... shhh, don't tell...LOL)

message 138: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol! That's so awesome! I'm not on twitter, but I'm seriously considering joining just to follow him!

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments That sounds like a great night. He came out to Sydney either last year or the year before and gave a talk and signed books and a couple of my friends who went were raving about it for months afterwards. his wife also comes out to play with her band on a regular basis and apparently she is also fun to follow on twitter.

I don't spend as much time on twitter as i used to but I am still on it now and then for various things like deweys readathon and various blogging events

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments I find Twitter challenging. I can't find my way around it and I gave up trying. I still have my account though I just don't use it as much too.

Attending BEA someday is somewhere in my bucketlist. The few authors that do visit my country are mostly YA authors and boyyyy the lines are excruciatingly LONG.

I read Hunted by Meagan Spooner recently and I think the MC's name starts with Y. Also Poison Study (Study, #1) by Maria V. Snyder has an MC Yelena. I enjoyed both those books and recommend them.

Carve the Mark (Carve the Mark, #1) by Veronica Roth has characters that start with Y and U but I didn't enjoy that book as much.

Have you read Dawn Study Andrea?

message 147: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (deja05) | 732 comments No I haven't. I didn't read past the first book but I should! It's on my list of series to finish. Have you read it?

You're welcome! Another book you could read is You (You, #1) by Caroline Kepnes - it's a BOM for June.

I've read the original trilogy. Dawn Study which is the last book in the continuing trilogy is the only book I haven't read yet. I'll probably get around to reading it next month.
