Do you have a Kindle that lets you use memory cards?
If not, you can remove some of the titles and they will still be available in the cloud.

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments Nikk, do you want us to post read books here or will there be a separate thread for posting read books?

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments I am thinking a separate thread at this stage to ensure I don't missing any. I will pop the link at the beginning of this thread once its organised

Poongothai (poongsa) | 576 comments Hi everybody,

I'm Poongothai and I live in Chennai, India. I have 2 sons aged 4 and 1. As a typical Indian joint family, I live with my husband, and in-laws. I'm a Civil Engineer by profession and work as a researcher in a construction firm. We had an audit last week and it was crazy here.
My other hobbies are reading, crocheting and drawing. I mainly ready romance, but also open to other genres.

My shelf - tower-teams

Zara's Retreat Is there something wrong with the links to our tower team shelves above? I can't access my shelf from this page. It keeps coming up with a message that the page isn't found. I refreshed the page, re-signed in and nothing works.

Sorry Zara, I was playing around with some formatting through a spreadsheet from one of the other team captains I will have it working by tomorrow :-)

Zara's Retreat Thanks.

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments Nikk I have a question. I have a book I started reading a year ago and has been on my currently reading for ages and haven't made progress. If I start from the beginning and read it, will it be counted? I haven't hit even the 1/4 mark yet.

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments I was just reading the answer to this question earlier this morning so I can actually answer :-)

The answer is yes you can as long as you start from the first page again. In the mean time, pop it back into want to read to ensure the start and finish dates when you read don't confuse the spreadsheet and then start it once TT officially starts

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments All right. Thanks Nikk!

message 63: by Mint (new)

Mint Tea (the-unknown) | 134 comments A few hours before May 4 and I'm trying really hard not to start another book yet but my hands are doing that grabby thing right now. Oh dear!

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments I know what you mean Mint though I have the opposite problem. I am frantically trying to finish 3 books for other challenges so I can start reading for TTV as soon as it starts or close too

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments Count down to start of Tower Teams V

About 6 3/4 hours till the start of Tower Teams V. What is everyone planning on reading first. for me at this stage, I think it will Blade Bound A Chicagoland Vampires Novel (Chicagoland Vampires Series) by Chloe Neill as it arrived this afternoon. My copy of A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #3) by Sarah J. Maas arrived yesterday and I couldn't wait so I started it already *hangs head* Sorry. That being said I am loving it already plus I need to finish it for shelf pursuit tomorrow 😀

Mint Tea (the-unknown) | 134 comments Wooh! 5 hours and then some more to go!!! I'm looking forward on reading The Circle as a startoff. I'm really excited!

message 67: by Marybeth (new)

Marybeth (narutofan14) | 262 comments I think i will probably read either A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #2) by Sarah J. Maas , King's Cage (Red Queen, #3) by Victoria Aveyard or The Beauty of Darkness (The Remnant Chronicles, #3) by Mary E. Pearson . I'm not sure which one I will read first but I'll probably focus on King's Cage (#3) first.

message 68: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (deja05) | 732 comments I'm going to read The Circle and participate in the BOM discussion for it.

Amy the book-bat (batkisses) | 914 comments Just started Angels & Demons for TTV. Also squeezed in a shorter humor book that I picked up at the book sale this morning.

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments Yay! Tower teams has now started. I have asked for a books read thread to be created. So when that's done I will post the link to the thread in msg 2 or 3 at the beginning of this thread along with all other relevant information.

Being a Sydney time zone it's 5 am and I am just getting out of bed to get ready for work so bear with me as I won't be able to pop the relevant links to threads spreadsheets till I get to work in a few hours (I have a long commute). However once I get on the train I will check the thread to answer any questions you might have.

In the mean time have fun and happy reading! 😀

I loved both King's Cage and Court of Mist and Fury. I am only up to book 2 of the remnant chronicles though it's not one of my favourite series so I may not get to book 2 for a while. What did you think of book 2?

Roger - president of NBR United - (roger_presidentofnbrunited) | 612 comments Posted first book in the book read thread. Also have a request to the librarians to add the page count for it 276 pages.

message 73: by Karla (new)

Karla I'm starting with The Shining (The Shining #1) by Stephen King

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments Phantom Menace Book Reads Thread

Hey guys,

The books read thread is up(see link above) and I will post a link to it up in message 6 to make it easy to find as well. Please take note of the completion post example I included at the top of the completion thread post as this will just make my life easier in ensuring our spreadsheet is up to date and correct and we are getting all the points we are entitled to :-)

Thanks for the heads up Roger. I have updated on the tower teams spreadsheet and also on goodreads :-)

Woohoo! So excited this has started now :) I'm working on The Invisible Library (The Invisible Library, #1) by Genevieve Cogman first.

Yay! I loved that book. I read it earlier this year. I have book 2 and 3 sitting on top of my book shelf waiting for me to get back to them. I also adore the covers on all three

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments It feels weird not having editing access to spreadsheets Nikk ;)

Nikk, I thought the second book was pretty good but it did take me a little while to read. I've only read a couple of chapters of The beauty of darkness but it does seem very good so far. I will probably start reading it over the weekend. :)

message 80: by Fajriy (new)

Fajriy Hi,
Sorry I haven't been around lately. I'm currently reading x0 by Sherrie Cronin as my first book for this challenge.

Happy reading and have a great weekend, everyone!

message 81: by Elise (new)

Elise F (elise_literaryhabitat) Yay - it's finally started!

Thank you everyone for your congrats :)

Just finished my last pre-challenge book and am reading Cannibalism A Perfectly Natural History by Bill Schutt and A Conspiracy of Kings (The Queen's Thief, #4) by Megan Whalen Turner now.

Kathleen - I have been reading the Megan Whalen Turner series for the first time as I was hearing so much hype about her new release - they are so good! Lucky I don't have to wait too long for the newest instalment :)

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments @Elise: Lucky you! I waited eons for this release!! It's one of my all time favorites!

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments Finished my last pre challenge book and yes A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #3) by Sarah J. Maas was an awesome read!

Starting on Blade Bound (Chicagoland Vampires, #13) by Chloe Neill tomorrow (or later today since its nearly 1 am ) then Rivers of London (Peter Grant, #1) by Ben Aaronovitch next

Roger - president of NBR United - (roger_presidentofnbrunited) | 612 comments Nikk, Do you want us to do separate posts for each book read or do you want it to be a tracker where we keep editing out post to add books?

Yes, it's so good! It's been sitting on my list for ages so really glad I finally got to it. Should be done today :)

Separate posts please. That way it make it easier for me to double check and mark where i am up to :-)

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments @Marybeth, may I ask you please to pop a read date on Gone Too Far by Natalie D. Richards as currently its showing as not set so its not being pulled on the spreadsheet.

Thanks :-)

Nikk, I didn't realize it this morning when i finished it but I did start Gone Too Far before the challenge started. I usually pay more attention to that but I didn't this morning.

Tomorrow I will probably start either Privilege (Privilege, #1) by Kate Brian or Monument 14 (Monument 14, #1) by Emmy Laybourne and should be able to finish them tomorrow night or Monday afternoon. :)

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments no probs Marybeth. Thanks for the update :-)

I haven't gotten much reading done today as I have been out with my dad and my daughter. Might try get some now whilst my daughter has a rest :-)

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments Finally got my first read Blade Bound (Chicagoland Vampires, #13) by Chloe Neill on the board and now starting on Rivers of London (Peter Grant, #1) by Ben Aaronovitch

Roger - president of NBR United - (roger_presidentofnbrunited) | 612 comments Today is a slow read day for me but I will probably get one done. just not sure which I have a Few Challenge books that need to be read for other challenges but have until Friday to worry about the one with the closest deadline.

Amy the book-bat (batkisses) | 914 comments I should have another book finished tonight. I finished a book yesterday that was started before TTV, so it didn't count. Hopefully I can get at least one a day this week.

Marybeth (narutofan14) | 262 comments I think I have caught up with all of the books that I have started before TTV so I should be able to start my library books this week. I will be traveling later in the week so I should be able to read A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #2) by Sarah J. Maas , Monument 14 (Monument 14, #1) by Emmy Laybourne , Crystal Storm (Falling Kingdoms, #5) by Morgan Rhodes and The Beauty of Darkness (The Remnant Chronicles, #3) by Mary E. Pearson . :)

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments Kelsi, may I get you to set a reading date on the lemony snicket book you posted as competed earlier. It's currently no showing as set.

I think there has been an error with this in general on goodreads lately

message 95: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes we were having problems with it during uno too. It's really annoying...I will fix it now.

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments Yeah I nearly had a heart attack today when 6 books disappeared from my 2017 goodreads challenge. I had to go through all my reads so far this year to reset the finish date on the ones that had disappeared. Luckily I have a spreadsheet with all my reads and challenges

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments Thanks Kelsi btw 😛

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments Finished my first book for TT. I was scouring my shelves what to read next and I guess it's high time to bring out the chunkster that is Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4) by Marissa Meyer and find out how they got their happy ever afters.

I'll be jumping on the A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #2) by Sarah J. Maas bandwagon and finish the series too. I hope Maas didn't introduce a new love interest in her last book.
