I have searched several sources which note that this is #13 in the Classic Goosebumps Series, and I actually own a copy which is numbered #12 on the spine. What do I do about it? Does anyone have any suggestions?

It actually isn't uncommon, especially with childrens books where foreign publishers may skip a book if it is for instance very culturally bound and difficult to translate.

If you can find a reliable source that lists the other numbering, we could add another series. Otherwise, keep the #12 on your edition and add a librarian note to say your book in hand is clearly numbered differently.
