That's a good thing too, otherwise I'd be serving life.

Oooh, that's bad. Sorry for you, Amy! Very difficult to finish a book when those bother you.

I'm finally starting my book, Leave Me Breathless (Ross Siblings, #3) by Cherrie Lynn tonight!

Leslie | 2430 comments Oooooh Nay, I loved Ghost!!! Thats a good book and sexy H (despite the stupid nickname)

I really enjoyed the first two. I just hope my reading tastes haven't changed since all those years ago and I enjoy this one as well. I've been putting off reading it for a loooong time for some reason!

message 62: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Oh crap, I didnt think of that. I read this a long time ago.

message 63: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) Leslie--I forgot this is a Samhain book, so it's a good, solid storyline that's well edited. And of course it's extremely HOT too! lol So far I'm loving it!

That book has a super cool cover.

message 66: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Fingers crossed it's a good one. I just finished Off the Record (Record, #1) by K.A. Linde series by same author and enjoyed it.

I get like a contact pretzel tummy when you guys start... I am such a nerd.

message 68: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Ooooh! Remember, you will sympathize with her! Just... not at first.

message 69: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments I finished Diamonds Diamonds (All that Glitters, #1) by K.A. Linde !

I love K.A. Linde, but this wasnt my fave. It was a little too Paper Princess-ish for my taste. It did hold my interest (I was dying to find out Jude's deal) but I don't think I will continue with rest of series.

3.5 ***

message 70: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments :) That works. I can see the Paper Princess thing. Same age and maturity.

Leslie--I didn't read Paper Princess, but I remember things y'all said about it, and I felt the exact same way about Diamonds. It's just one of those that I read and never rated, and I didn't want to say anything until you finished it. It was a 3-star read for me and the h majorly got on my nerves. From what I remember, she was waaaay too immature for my tastes--the older I get, the more that happens with some of the younger characters. I also decided not to continue with the rest of the series, so you're not alone! Now that you've finished, I'll go rate it too.

message 73: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Nay, I think the problem for me is books with teenagers that try (and fail miserably) to act too grown up. The h in this one was very unlikeable and NOT in a "love to hate" kind of a way. I need my young adult mc's to act more like teenagers.

Nay (4ukcats) Finished Leave Me Breathless right under the gun! Nothing hugely special about it for me, but I gave it 4 stars because I did enjoy it and it was written well...and it was sexy and hot! The drama from the hero's perspective was a little OTT for me at times (in a non-masculine way), but I still loved him and thought it was a good read. I miss the days of the well-written Samhain erotic romance books!

I won't be continuing with the series, however. I think I've read enough about the Ross siblings and their friends!

message 76: by [deleted user] (new)

Paula! I finished it! Whoot!

message 77: by Paula (new)

Paula White | 800 comments Hurrah! 2* - so I am assuming it was not a good read? Think I will move that down my TBR!

message 78: by [deleted user] (new)

Not for me, no. But Jean loved it, so don't discount it.

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments Grey wrote: "Awesome, so does anyone know how did Amy do with Figure Eight?"

I saw she finished it, but didn't say much...maybe that means she didn't care for it too much and doesn't want to say I'm a sucky picker!!!

message 85: by Grey (new)

Grey | 2385 comments Mod
*high five, Lisa* I'm a sucky picker too! 😂 It's all good...another one off the TBR, remember?!?

message 86: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) But remember--these are books that WE say we want to read, so you're (we're) picking books that are picked for us to pick from. So like Grey said--it's another off the TBR.

Also, people like me put a bunch of books on their list that have been on their TBR for years. And we all know how much things have changed book-wise over the past 4-5 years. I may end up dnf'ing books from my pick-for-me list that I never would have dnf'd all those years ago.

I'm reading one now that I would have loved back then, but the lack of care that I can already tell has been put into the editing for content is just pissing me off, and if it continues, I'm going to dnf it, plain and simple.

I just ain't got time for no shitty books!!! 😠

Well said Renee. (Your whole comment)

No worries, Jean! I picked it for you to pick, and I'm SO glad I finally got it off my tbr! I hated that I didn't read it long ago when I felt like *everyone* had read it. It was good because it was well written, and, of course, Ghost was super sexy, which I didn't mind AT ALL--it just didn't blow my mind, but that's a rarity these days.

message 89: by Jean (new)

Jean | 1658 comments Renee, doesn't it feel great to clean up your TBR this way? This was such a great idea!

Nay (4ukcats) Jean wrote: "Renee, doesn't it feel great to clean up your TBR this way? This was such a great idea!"

Definitely!

message 92: by Jan (new)

Jan (jan130) OK I made myself finish my book (Night Owl) in a burst of self-discipline. I did end up skimming, although I put the brakes on when I spotted the STUFFED MANATEE. Yes, Manny. How sweet.

But overall, it just wasn't my cup of tea and I 1.5 starred it. Ah well, Yes, Jean, Ela, Renee, it IS great to tidy up the tbr a bit, although really, mine is still out of control. Hehe.
