Ok,I think I have my 2.The first one is Mary Tudor: Princess, Bastard, Queenand:
The Unfaithful Queen: A Novel of Henry VIII's Fifth Wife
]I think I'll go withThe Unfaithful Queen: A Novel of Henry VIII's Fifth Wife by Carolyn Erickson, too.And...
To Die For: A Novel of Anne Boleyn by Sandra Boyd.
I need to find out in plenty of time---I need to order this in advance.
You still have a nomination, if you want to nominate another book, Skye. (Marian had already nominated The Unfaithful Queen.)
Thanks so much, Susanna; actually I concurred with Marian and Natalie: I nominate The Wives of Henry VIII by Antonia Fraser
Hello everyone,This years cityread.london 2017 is S.J Parris's Prophecy which is set in London in 1583 the synopsis of the plot are along these lines
Autumn, 1583: Queen Elizabeth's rule is under threat. Plans for invasion to put Mary Stuart on the throne of England are secretly being laid. And an astrological phenomenon believed to herald the death of an age and the dawn of another has led to frenzied speculation of terrible events to come.
It contains real people of the time like Dr John Dee Sir Philip Sydney and others and has proved to be a popular read.
I also saw you mentioned Antonia Fraser, although not about Tudor history as such her book The Gunpowder plot os 1605 is a riveting read
Anne Boleyn: King's Obsession is only coming out the middle of May, but at least it seems to be coming out at the same time both sides of the Atlantic. City of London Libraries, Prophecy is the second book in that series; would you like to nominate the first, Heresy?
I agree,Antonia Fraser's books are excellent.
Heresy is indeed the first book in the series where we get a part of the 'back history' of Giordano Bruno 1548 - 1600. Though you don't have to read the books in order it will help as some characters re-appear in several of the books. Prophecy was chosen as its based in London. Antonia Fraser's Mary Queen of Scots is a great read too, don't be put off by the thickness of it. The book is not a "dry" history it captures the essence of what you needed to survive at court (or not in some cases)

It's already on my list; I like your comment; unfortunately so many books written of the Tudor time frame can be relatively 'dry.' They are wonderful in terms of content and historical information, but they are not 'easy' reads.
I'll nominate
John Dudley: The Life of Lady Jane Grey's Father-in-Law and
Graven with diamonds: the many lives of Thomas Wyatt : courtier, poet, assassin, spy.
I studied his poetry in college; he was in love with Anne and embittered that she left him for the King.

If it's in a series, can it be easily read as a stand-alone? If not, you might want to nominate the first book in the series, or the most recent book in it the group has not read together.
Can't remember what we've already read as a group? (Sometimes I can't, either.) There's a "group-reads" shelf on the group's Bookshelf.
Two nominations to a person, please.
