Geek/Nerd Romance: A romance where one of the main characters is a geek or a nerd. While both geeks and nerds are intelligent, there are other differences between the two. A geek is somebody who is generally very knowledgeable — even to the point of obsession— about a particular topic. They also are more social than a nerd, as a nerd is definited as a socially awkward person who excels in science or technology. They are generally more introverted. Keep in mind that most geeks are part nerd, and most nerds are part geek. (This info is from wikiHow to Tell the Difference Between Nerds and Geeks.

Hey Carly,

I plan to start Kiss of the Highlander today for the March "Bad Boys" sub-genre. I can let you know if it fits the theme. I want to say that the heroine is super smart with a humdrum life. I can't recall from the reviews what she does for a living, but it looks like she is a bit on the awkward side, too, from the story summary.

I'll post something here when I know more, just to confirm. : )

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 392 comments Ohhhhhhh wow!!!! I have to recommend this one to everyone. It's currently #101 on the Nerdy Geeky Heroines of Romance list.

First Lady by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
First Lady by Susan Elizabeth Phillips

It's so funny and one of my all time favorites!

Hey Carly,

Yeah I read in one of the reviews I think she is a Physicist and obsessed with science so that'd definitely fit into this and she's a super virgin haha, let me know how it is! That has been on my radar for awhile now and I could dish out 2 challenges next month with that one! :)

Yes, I've read it several times. LMBO!

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 392 comments Gotta love it when a book fits more than one challenge! LOL! I'll be sure to let you know how it goes, Carly!

Lisa Kay - glad you enjoyed that one, too! The Hubster and I listened to Anna Field's narration of First Lady together. He has become a huge Susan Elizabeth Phillips fan.

We really really, really miss Anna Fields. She was so gifted. : (

I really like Penny Reid so I'd suggest Neanderthal Seeks Human (Knitting in the City, #1) by Penny Reid & it's free

Finished my first one last night! Start Me Up (Tumble Creek, #2) by Victoria Dahl was pretty good, I'd say a solid 3.5 star rating that I'll wind up rounding down to a 3.

I'm going to start with Neanderthal Seeks Human (Knitting in the City, #1) by Penny Reid .
This is a new author to me so I will decide what next after this book.

Read Neanderthal Seeks Human (Knitting in the City, #1) by Penny Reid ~ 4/13 & Neanderthal Marries Human (Knitting in the City, #1.5) by Penny Reid ~ 4/14. They were just ok for me.

Jodie’s guilty pleasures (dubious_ks) | 86 comments Not sure if it's on the lists, but the heroine in Tracker's End (Wind Dragons MC, #3) by Chantal Fernando , was a self-defined introvert/book geek.

It doesn't need to be on the list, it just needs to be a geek romance.
The lists are not correct most of the time, they are there just for guidance!

I read it and hated it. Couldn't stand the heroine.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 607 comments I got it because it was free. I won't rush to read it if so many didn't like it.

Gisela (chicadorlando) | 4022 comments Read a couple of chapters if the total randomness of the heroine's verbal diarrhea doesn't annoy you then you'll probably like it. I just couldn't stand it. She always went off on tangents so I started skimming every time she opened her mouth.

I thought I would read 1.5 and 2 in the series but I simply couldn't do it. I started 1.5 but the first few pages annoyed me so much that I closed it never opened it again!
