Melanti | 761 comments Does this qualify as a series? I wouldn't think just being set during the dust bowl in California and having similar themes was enough to qualify.

Wikipedia refers to it as the "Dust Bowl Trilogy" on Steinbeck's main bio but not on any of the individual book pages - and it's mentioned as a side remark, not in detail.

I've read only 2 of the 3 but I don't recall any overlapping characters or plots.

I would lean towards no, but I've never actually read any of them. (I know, I know. They're on my "someday" list!)

Melanti | 761 comments It's been a really long time (Jr. High) since I read the one, so I'm not the best of judges either.

I did some googling and while I found multiple sites calling it a series, no one mentions anything in common other than them featuring migrant farm workers in Cali during the dust bowl.

I'd give it a few days to see if anyone else has more information. If there are no further replies by early next week, I think zapping the series would be fine.

Krazykiwi | 1767 comments I've read the last two, albeit years ago. There are no shared characters that I can remember, and they're set in different places. I guess there is a common theme but I'd put it more like Dickens returning to write about Christmas, which I also don't think is a series.

Since we never heard from anyone defending it, I think this is good to get zapped.
