SOLVED. YA fantasy: read about 7 years or so ago. [s]

I believe it's a princess who is supposed to be married and she's also supposed to be assassinated but I can't remember which one makes the decision for her to leave. She goes to a small town where she works at an inn and winds up unknowingly meeting and perhaps falling in love with her assassinator. He winds up taking her and goes back to his kingdom to keep her prisoner.... I forget whether or not he saves her or if the guy she was supposed to marry saves her... And in one part her brother or brothers go to fight and iare killed like right in front of her and she's up on this mountain watching. I can't remember names of any characters, sorry. I do remember one of the girls at the inn has a son? And she becomes friends with this girl.
