Yep... We were thinking on making it a summer challenge.. but we missed it too :DSign-ups will start in two weeks... I think... probably... :)
Yes yes yes! Thank you Mods! I've been scrutinizing each newsletter for this ;) The anticipation is already kicking in!
Ohhhh, I love team challenges! Can't wait to give this a shot!!Also love the sound of the theme so far!
Tower Teams was our first team challenge... The original concept was to read 2013 books in 2013. 4 years & 4 editions later, is still one of our favorites. It had a few changes, now points are variable by page amounts to make it more fair... but the core is still the same... read as much as you can as a team. Unless we throw an event there (and btw, star wars is begging for it), is a free choice read :D
Is simple, fuss free and a lot of fun!

Sounds incredibly fun.
eek! I've been keeping my eye on the page waiting for the next team challenge after loving WOBBLE so much. Getting hyped already ;)
Laura wrote: "Lol... Thanks Sonia! Admit it though....you just couldn't resist!! Can't wait to play!"Nope... And I'm not the only one... as soon as the idea popped, Karen asked to put a teaser on FB.... so yeah... there....
I managed to keep it away from the group because... no one was asking about it... :)
Yayayyaya! I saw the teaser on Facebook and have been in stalking mode ever since to make sure I didn't miss anything.So.... can we assume this will start around May 4th... it seems like the perfect day. ;-) ;-)
Star Wars Schmar Wars!
Not a fan here. Not a hater, just never seen any of them properly. Completely passed me by - probably because I was always nose-deep in a book!

Yes, starting date is 4th May. Actually, it was the date that set the theme... I was looking at the calendar to check May's first weekend and Tadah! A star was born :D
Well Catherine, I'm not a die hard fan... I like the movies... even went to theaters to watch some (yes, I paid to watch Jar Jar ... don't remind me)
But I'm quite a fan of The Big Bang Theory, which in turn calls up on my geek side.
And worry not... the core is still the reading... On tower teams, themes are mostly to have titles and teams names... and maybe some friendly bantering... or mod competition for bragging rights.. that sort of thing. We're not making anybody read about Ewoks or asking the difference between a Jedi and a Sith.
(we may ask for spell-it-outs though, in case a middle game quest magically appears)
I'm not anti-geek! BBT is fabulous! Doctor Who - love it! TNG - yup! I read loads of SFF books. I just have a blank spot with Star Wars, and am now too old (and too familiar with the story) for it to catch me now.
I have told my mother off for failing me on this cultural megalith, but she is NOT a geek so sees it as a good thing that I haven't watched Star Wars!

I'm bummed I'll have to sit this one out (starting date also happens to coincide with date I'm suppose to produce this offspring lol) but I'll be cheering from the sidelines ;) Towers is always a good time :D

Ahahahah... that... never crossed my mind.
Anyway.. I'm like that with Star Trek.. so, no judgement here :D

But you know... Tower Teams is the only team challenge were you can read as little as 1 book a month and still be able to participate.
How often do readers need to check in for this challenge? I'll be travelling May 11th to June 5th, and my internet access will be variable. Should I pass on the challenge? Or is adding books when/if possible for those two weeks okay?
Sonia wrote: "On tower teams, themes are mostly to have titles and teams names..."Please, no Jabba the Hutt!

Looks like fun and will fit in with another team challenge I am in where I can read any M/M book of at least 30 pages. I know there is a hundred page minimum.

The planet better known as NBRC declared to be neutral ground, a safe haven where all factions could gather and talk about their book conquers without fear.
To keep things interesting, along with a tourism boost, once every galactic year they would host a friendly competition, each faction would read enough to make a tower of books, and prizes would be won. It was a chance to prove them best. It was a chance to get bragging rights for the next year, it was a chance to squish the enemies without being banned. It was a lot of fun!
