I am so sorry to hear about this Alex. I know that no matter what happens, you will find a way to keep writing and publishing. I hope things work out soon for you. Wishing you the best.
From a logical point of view this should be sorted out. It sounds like a misunderstanding linked back to the historical account. If all else fails Smashwords will distribute to Amazon (and Kobo, iBooks, B&N and others I don't recognise.)
Yeah I don't think trying to submit the same books to them through another company will work. Best to let sleeping dragons lie until you get a response

I will return your book now. They ain't keeping my $1 while they give you zero royalties, bastards!!
I had to read an entire ebook before I distributed on Smashwords to get into their premium catalogue, so if you can get it done with D2D do that.
Erica wrote: "How do you return an ebook?"You go to your order history and then manage your content and devices. Then you select the book and click on the button under actions with three dots on it and then click on return for refund.
Erica you have to go to computer browser your account, manage content and devices, find book, then click the three dots and hit refund. It's a process

Yeah they certainly hide that option lol
Sorry to hear about this, Alex. Especially when you're doing so well and was so excited about your books climbing up the Amazon charts. You're getting so much good advice here, so I know you'll find other, if not better avenues to promote your books. I know everyone's support here is really helpful, too.
So not the person you had an issue with first time round then? It's probably just a fk up. Utter bollocks one though.
Alex, that's terrible news! So sorry to hear you're going through this. I hope it gets worked out, and don't give up! You're doing great work :)
Did you use the same bank account- Does that have your real name?
They won't let Julie review any of my books even though she lives in the South about a thousand miles from me and we were never linked in any way, We were not remotely connected.
No one from my office has been able to like or leave reviews, even from their home computer. Most of the people I work with live in another county 20 miles from me. We are not connect on any sites like Facebook and Amazon won't let them leave reviews or vote up or down other reviews even when they purchase a book.
It's little scary.

Balls. I'm sorry Alex but that's why it's good to be proactive and have plan Bs. You're all set with the other outlets so we will see how it unfolds.
I'm going to look into giving my copy of your book back too and buy it from iBooks or something. I can't do it easily on my phone. It riles me that in doing what they've done they are perpetuating the author writes for nothing thing by withholding your royalties.
Right good, asked for a refund on Amazon on the second book (can't on the first) and bought the second one on iBooks. I can't stand authors not being paid what they're owed.
Kindles are go to your Amazon account, manage your content and devices off that menu and then under the ... next to the book click return for refund. (Types that up now before I forget...)
Gosh, Alex I just read about this. I'm so damn sorry! What a mess. I'd just been talking earlier today to someone about how I was afraid they'd do this to me. :( I really hope they let you publish through D2D or pronoun. Keep your chin up, it'll all get sorted. (Maybe opening a different bank account is the way to go?)

lol
So, just to add to the Grrr. Not writing related. Well it is in a way because I should be writing but instead I've got this to deal with.
My dead Dad's estate-he left us part of the house. Three executors (incl me) my sister (also one) lives 50 miles away. We all need to sign every bit of paperwork when it comes out. It comes out from the solicitor in dribs and drabs. We were only up there two weeks ago to swear for probate. And now we've got something else to sign. My sister and I only have papers marked copy. My brother has the original. I've got to try to locate him (he works away sometimes) I've got to sign it, send it in the post to my sister who will then send it to the solicitor. I have never known such an inefficient industry. Not only that, I found out effectively from a friend that the house sale that forms the basis of our inheritance completed last Friday. I emailed the solicitor to ask if this was true and got confirmation this afternoon. Apparently the new people moved in at the end of last week according to sources I have half way around the world no less. We weren't even aware the sale had progressed this far.
Never do equity release, not unless you want to shaft your kids.
Thanks Alex. Someone told me yesterday that someone she knows whose mum died after my dad has already been on two holidays on the proceeds of the house sale. From an emotional point of view I need it concluded. It's been eight months since he died. And there just doesn't seem to be an end in sight. The whole thing is hanging over me like something that could kick off into a disaster at any moment. Not to mention the insecurity over my husband's job at the moment. #RequiresLotteryWin
Alex wrote: "Amazon has got back to me, quicker than I expected, to say they won't be re-instating my account, so nuts. I have emailed again to ask if I will be permitted to publish to them through a third part..."So sorry, Alex. That's awful :(
I'm sorry for your loss, Amy. I hope the probate gets sorted soon. Situations like this can be complicated and inefficient in the U.S. too. Very difficult for grieving family members :(
Nutters. Did you forward that back to them and ask if all has been sorted out now? That'll be their lists of who to email not updating as quickly as their decisions are made.
I've responded in a similar way before to other things, on the grounds that the right hand never knows what the left is doing all you get is a "huh?"

The formatting of your books on Pronoun is topnotch.
Pronoun seems to be turning into a nice option.
Groovy wrote: "Question:If you set up with Pronoun, can your books still be in KDP Select?"
No, sadly.
