Now you're just past half-way. Have your initial thoughts changed at all? How do you like the writing/pacing/characters/overall story?? I can't wait to hear your thoughts.

Melanie I have to say that by then, I knew I loved this book. I really like how she moved so effortlessly through the timeline, changing point of views. The world as it develops in the post flu time is amazingly described, it's like a jump back to the Dark Ages but with a knowledge that things had been different not so long ago. I wondered frequently if that's how people felt once the Roman Empire collapsed, when they went from living in brick buildings with underfloor heating to living in wooden huts again with mud flooring.

Robyn (driftlessreader) | 28 comments I was a little confused at first with how stuff jumped around, but now I love that we are getting a glimpse into life before, during, and after the virus strikes. I am a little freaked out because I could see this happening at some point..like the plague during the Dark Ages...you would like to think that with modern medicine it wouldn't happen, but antibiotics are proving to maybe be harmful with long term use! I'm looking forward to finding out how the "prophet" is connected to everybody...I think I'm getting close! Need to keep reading :)

I totally agree, I also felt that this would totally how it could be. Also them living in shopping centres and old McDonald's restaurants. Safety in numbers.

I'm starting to notice connections between the timelines and it's got me so hooked! Every time I notice one, like the dog's name Lilo and the comics, I get so excited. The creepy feeling that really started in the town with the prophet hasn't really left me. I am on edge to find out how it's all connected. Who really is the prophet and what is his connection to Kirsten? What is the significance of the comics that Kirsten has saved for so long...and how did she get that snowglobe that was mentioned in a pre-plague timeline!?!? So many questions! I'm loving it!

Holy moly! Just finished section 4. Where are these troupe members disappearing too? And now where is the rest of the symphony! I wasn't at all prepared for the creepy vibes, but am enjoying them! I suppose I should have expected it a bit, knowing this was a post-apocalyptic book.

Debbi Faust Creepy is right!

Wendy (wmaresca) Part 3 and learning more about Miranda and her life and how she fits in with Author. The more I read the more I am not a fan of Author. I guess my question as to who wrote the comic was answered. I am very curious how it is all going to come full circle. How Author ended up having the final copy and giving it to Kirsten. There were also quite a lot of dogs named Luli, lol. I really felt bad for Miranda and how things happened. But I do wonder if Author ever did really stop loving her.

Chapter 4 and the missing symphony group were very creepy and strange. I just keep getting worried that August will be next. I worry for Kirsten and what is going to happen. So many unanswered questions right now. Who is V was she the first love and best friend he regrets Arthur regrets losing. He seems devastated when they are no longer corresponding. And where and who is interviewing Kirsten. It just gets stranger and creepier.

Debbi Faust I have an idea how "V" fits into the story but I am keeping it a secret until I find out for sure. Maybe I am right??? Maybe I am wrong???

I keep having suspicions about who the conductor is and also the prophet...but I am really not sure. I am enjoying the guessing game though!

Patricia | 19 comments I agree with everyone, I was stunned how they Symphony group just disappeared into thin air. I also think the comics of Station Eleven will have a bigger role in the story.
I can't wait to see what happened to them.
I also was a bit confused with how things jumped around from before and after. But the story always gives me just enough to leave me on a cliff hanger waiting for things to unfold more.

I felt that pull to see what was going to come up next. I did feel like a constant cliff hanger! haha.
