Thank you ladies. ^_^
If I may ask one little favor though; next time there's an issue: shoot me an e-mail so that I can get on it as soon as possible.
I love the articles everyone keeps sending me. :) Some of you caught the blog-writing bug I think lol
Just a friendly reminder to everyone participating in the Spring Event, make sure you visit the thread for the book statuses and get your information turned in! Thanks a bunch!

I would send in something but I'm afraid I don't have any inside knowledge and my strong suit is fiction cuz at least then I don't have to try to sound smart! I am writing a short story for the anthology tho! I will also help however needed with sharing and stuff! Everything looks amazing! If you need any ebooks or author swag for giveaways let me know I can help with that too!
I finally had time to read all of the posts on the website blog. Wow! I'm impressed! And happy to be part of this group.
I'm up at the website again with a super long article about author websites. It's meant to help beginners and authors that don't know much about Wordpress.I'd love some articles about marketing now. So if you're in the mood to give some tips on that, write me a little something.
Cool! I think you will benefit more from part II, which will include setting up a book portfolio with purchasing links, linking to newsletters in widgets and all that stuff. This one is really for beginners. :D
Thanks for the article Alexis!I can't wait for my plan on wordpress.com to run out so I can move over to .org. So frustrating.

Yw!! Yes org is much better although I do miss the followers widget that wordpress.com offers!!
Aislinn wrote: "Ah, see I'd never have a followers widget. Waaaaay too embarrassingly low a number hahaha"Yeah, I'm right there with you...
On a side note, I'm super excited for this event! Are people making banners. I can give it a go, but I'm terrible with them. That said, I'm very good at marketing and publicizing!
Great article Alexis! I can't wait for the follow up. This is exactly what I needed to kick my butt in gear to start a website. :)
I am still struggling through marketing myself so I look forward to any articles related to that topic.

Aislinn wrote: "Ah, see I'd never have a followers widget. Waaaaay too embarrassingly low a number hahaha"Lol true, but you can hide the followers count in Settings.

Yeah I'll be making some banners that can be used. Others should feel free to make some as well.
Speaking of banners, everyone should try to come up with funny slogans that I can use on them :D
You put a fire under me and I started writing a small article on facebook marketing. Do you want me to add some links to places where I place my book daily to promote it?

Woohoo, I'm happy to hear that. :D

You can do better than that :p

If you don't see any of my comments on the blog it's because Discus has yet to send me my verification code. I keep asking for one, but...Anyway, what I want to say is--Very, very insightful article, Alexis. Anyone who goes to the website and see how you're running it, can see you know what you're talking about. The importance of having an author website is a priceless article. Can't wait to read the other ones coming.
(yourGroovydomain.com) Good one:)!!

Thanks Groovy! It will be a weekly feature. It was supposed to be a 3 part series but it will take an extra article I think. A second one about wordpress.com, one about wordpress.org and the last one about blogger and wix. I'm glad you liked it!! :D
Okay, like I said before, I was going to keep everyone updated every step of the way regarding the event. With the help of Brittney and Erin, I've been contacting a list of bloggers asking them to promote our event.
If you visit www.navigatingindieworld.com now, you will see that the sidebar includes a section labelled EDITORS CHOICE, where I basically highlight a few of my favorite articles every week.
That section will be gone during the event.
Instead you will see small banners of our sponsors like the one we have up right now for Carole's book since she will be sponsoring the Amazon giftcards. Some bloggers have agreed to feature our material free of cost. Others ask for banner space in return.

We won't be getting any money or any sort of payment from lending out banner space. It's just us returning the favor since the bloggers know that our website will be well-visited during the event.
That brings me to another point, if you know any bloggers that you would like me to contact to arrange promo space with, or if you'd like to contact yourself, DM me. I will send you the email we've been sending around.
Groovy wrote: "This is the best promotional campaign I've ever been a part of. I applaud you all:)"Thanks Groovy!

That pic is great!!
Hi everyone!!!In today (tomorrow's) tutorial on NavigatingIndieworld, we are going to turn the simple pink website that we made..
Into this: https://navigatingindieworldblog.word...
(Check out the amazon link under books that I thought was a nice touch.)
Money spent: 0
The website is a complete ripoff of Carole's real website by the way lol. http://www.caroleproman.com
P.S. Remember that I'm a needy begger for informative interesting articles so if you're in a writing mood, send me something!
Alex wrote: "Oh wow, and just when I thought I was doing well with the site I created today, you decide to up the gave *trembles nervously*Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased you're guiding me to build the site I ..."
Easy. Don't read tomorrow's article until next week! You'll be in I-can-handle-this-stuff-easily mode by then.
ETA: The tutorial will be easy to follow though. :D
Wow, you do nice work, Alexis. I love the colors and the way it looks. My younger son did my website. I have to show him what you did- it's beautiful.
Alex wrote: "I hope you're right. I just need to remember not to try and do too much at one time; I always make the same mistake, try and do too much, get stressed, have a melt down, and then collapse for a whi..."Would I ever steer you wrong?
You are way ahead of everyone else since you already made your website, created the menu and added content.
The second tutorial is 65% done for you.
You're gonna snicker your way through it, like "That silly Alexis, I already know how to do this [bleep]"
Me:
Blah blah BLAH html blah.
You:
I shall have to stick with Blogger for now. Time constraints and all sorts. Need to get OH to decipher what I get with my email provider. Some hosting of the other one is offerered for free. But I couldn't figure out how much and what any other charges were.
I will be changing the price on my kindle book for our Event. I haven't changed the price on KDP before, does anyone know how long it usually takes for the new price to go live on Amazon?
It also depends on wether or not you're doing a manual lower or a countdown deal. Countdown deals often require at least 24 hours.
