Sounds good to me I am scheduling a cover reveal for the 30th and was thinking about using my U.K. Countdown deal for that week also! It's perfect!

Question! I need your opinions. If my books are already at $2.99, and I read where some of you are listing your books at that price, should I just keep them at $2.99, or do you think I should list them lower? Did that question make sense:)
Omg, I messed up ladies. I was looking at april!!!! Can we do 25/26/27 of March? I really want to it during the weekend so that everyone has time to participate.
Groovy wrote: "Question! I need your opinions. If my books are already at $2.99, and I read where some of you are listing your books at that price, should I just keep them at $2.99, or do you think I should list ..."I would lower the lowest selling book to 0.99 and keep the other at 2.99.

I am flexible with whatever works for everyone else :) I have the promotion thread ready to post, but I will wait until we have the dates set.

Alexis is right- you will get the biggest bang for that. Everyone loves those deal. I ended up keeping most of our books there and it keeps them in the lower ranks.
Carole, do you have a list of (friendly) bloggers I could contact to send a short article about our event?
I think during the week is safer- weekends people don't check their mail- they are busier, sometimes away?

Yep- I'm home now- I'll have Brit put something together tomorrow morning- is that okay?

Perfect!
I got a couple of lovely messages via the contact form on website and I appreciate them but I just wanted to stress: if you've submitted your cover to R.L.'s new magazine project, I won't even see it let alone be able to add it to NI.com. I'm not involved with the free magazine ad project at all. If you want to be included on navigatingindieworld.com, make use of the thread we pinned for it or PM me questions. Or email me: alexis@navigatingindieworld.com. Whatever is easier for you.
I do have a suggestion on the dates after all. If we are going to do a weekend, I think it would be better to do a friday-sunday. I have found that I tend to get the most activity wed-saturday with Monday being the slowest. Thats just in my case though. And like Carol said, some people are away on the weekends so it would probably help to include Friday at least.
I'm late to the game but excited by all the flurry of action. So, I figure I'll pick up on what's going on. Sounds like a sale event at the end of March? Sounds awesome!
Erica wrote: "I do have a suggestion on the dates after all. If we are going to do a weekend, I think it would be better to do a friday-sunday. I have found that I tend to get the most activity wed-saturday with..."I think you're right Erica. It seems we need to choose between
thursday, friday and saturday
Or friday, saturday and sunday
Anyone else with some interesting feedback regarding which days have the highest sales?
BookGorilla's research says Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday are their busiest kindle paid days. But that's just one source.
I have an idea.I will "hide" the giveaway rafflecopter that is visible on the site right now and put an image with a key. To "unlock" it and reach the giveaway, visitors have to tweet the link to the page once.
I could add a standard message like "Please support us, use one of the buttons below to unlock the content.." Or something like that.
Good idea or thumbs down?
Mondays and Tuesdays work more for visibility for me. There seems to be more activity online on those days.
Something like this http://navigatingindieworld.com/locke...
But it might annoy people; they are already being supportive by being on the site.
Nely wrote: "Mondays and Tuesdays work more for visibility for me. There seems to be more activity online on those days."Hmm, interesting Nely. Thank you,
I vote NI Spring Book Festival, since there will be four a year. And it's catching. Also, whichever days y'all feel are best is okay with me.
I like the key idea. All you have to do is click. But I see what Alexis is saying about some people getting annoyed. The website is so professional and inviting, I think most wouldn't mind, though. If they do, just take it down--IMHO
I really like the interactive key idea. However, would it limit the giveaway to only people who have/use Twitter?
As always, thank you for the valuable feedback ladies. Here's what I've come up with. It's sneaky, lol.
I added one category and made it link to the giveaway, but I put it at the bottom of the page.
That way the readers have to scroll through ALL the genres to reach it.
After clicking it, they'll land at the locked page.
Tweeting or facebooking will unlock the giveaway.
Check it out (please) and let me know what you think!
P.S. The links lead to my accounts so no need to click on them.

Hmmm....I LOVE IT! Great idea Alexis!
Do we have dates set yet? I think we should do this whenever you and the other mods feel will work best. I don't think we can necessarily go wrong with any of them and we can always try various days of the week with our next events if we feel it would help.

YES! Glad you all approve.Working on the banner for the main page now.
I'm not sure about the name. Maybe it has to be bigger but this is what I have. It won't change too much I think.

It's really nice. If this is the actual size it will be, it may look better a bit bigger. I opened it on my phone and the words were a little on the small side. Other than that, I really like it!
You're right, it's really small on Mobile!http://navigatingindieworld.com/portf...
Erica, you are one helpful lady.
Hmm, back to the drawing board.
This made me realize something. I won't be individual banners now. People use so many different phones, tablets and PC's, that it will be hell to make banners that are visible and work well with a mobile responsive theme. So yeah, that's scrapped. (Thanks, Erica. Lol)
It is very frustrating trying to find what works across different devices. You have already done so much work and even if you can't do different banners, it is still going to look amazing. Thank you for again for all the hard work and time you have put into this! You are so talented!

I think that if everyone contributes aand share the event, we might truly turn this into something special.

P.S.
We have a new article on the blog by one of my GR friends, Anna Adler. Check it out when you have a chance, everyone.
I think Friday, Saturday and Sunday is doable for me the event days that way I can do the price promotion al deals for my books. But, if that's not possible then I can be flexible. I'll post about the book event on my Facebook page and of course on my Goodreads blog once it officially launches.
Alexis, the website looks amazing. I like the way my author page looks - it doesn't need a banner. Are we sharing the link to the website now or should I wait for an official go ahead?
Christine wrote: "Alexis, the website looks amazing. I like the way my author page looks - it doesn't need a banner. Are we sharing the link to the website now or should I wait for an official go ahead?"
Thank you, Christine. ;)
Wait for the official go ahead please

But if you want to contribute already, there are blog articles posted that you can read and comment on. The authors - and myself lol - love that
Pff. Just a heads up. There's something off with my ipad. I can't see any images. I'll get back to adding the books when I get this fixed. I have more than enough GB left so idk what's up.
Alexis, you're doing an awesome job. You are really working it. I really love the way you have it where you scroll through the genres and then at the end--wah--lah! The giveaway! Good idea!

I am glad you were able to use it. Between us (and everyone else on this thread lol), it is the first blog article I have written. I have done short entries for my Goodreads blog, but nothing like this. It was fun. :) I have been enjoying everyone else's articles too.
