Cindy | 2 comments I recall little and can't even remember if I read this in the late 70s/early 80s or early on as a teacher in the mid to late 80s/early 90s. A young teen, perhaps 13-15 is visiting his grandmother. I feel like they were on a cruise or something and she liked jazz. I seem to recall the song Do Nothing Till You Hear From Me is mentioned. Any help would be much appreciated.

Cindy | 2 comments Kris,

That must be it! Thank you so much! I will get a copy and be sure before I remove my question. I heard the song Do Nothing Till You Hear From Me, and suddenly remembered the story. My mother was a children's librarian and I read so many Richard Peck books. She passed away last year ,or I could ask her and she'd probably remember. By the way, she amassed a collection of well over 900 children's books. We donated the collection to a small school that was thrilled to more than triple their library. Thank you again for your help! It is much appreciated.

You're most welcome. What a wonderful gift your mother gave to the school.

Let's move this request to "Possibly Solved". Come back and let us know if this is your book.
