If you're announcing early, do we still have to wait until Friday to start reading? Or is this not decided yet?"

No - you can start reading as soon as the theme is announced :D

Also - selection and completion posts can be posted through to our normal time of 6pm US EST without penalty. So even though I will announce early, the normal timeframes will hold.

Jane (PS) | 24353 comments Week 6

Option 1
12. We're Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen has a lot of rhyming and repetition in it. Read a book where the title has at least two words in a row starting with the same letter (excluding A, An and The). Eg Power Play, Red River etc.

Option 2
Key date: 12 October 2016

Please ensure you follow the format shown in msg 3 of your team threads.

message 109: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11376 comments Hey Jane! Question for you - do all the words in the title have to start with the same letter? For example, would Wedding Bell Blues qualify?

message 110: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31805 comments Question - does a hyphenated word count as one word or two? For example in this title Stuck-Up Suit, not sure I would choose that, but I saw it and wondered if it would work.

Jane (PS) | 24353 comments ~KarenH~ wrote: "Hey Jane! Question for you - do all the words in the title have to start with the same letter? For example, would Wedding Bell Blues qualify?"

That would work. It has at least two words in a row starting with the same letter. It doesn't need to be the first word in the title :)

message 112: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11376 comments Ok, thanks Jane! =)

Happy to count that as either one word or two words. It's Easter ~ let's be flexible!!

MountainKat | 31805 comments Thanks Jane!

message 115: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Does your good will extend to allowing an "and" between the words ie Blood and Betrayal?

message 116: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24353 comments Why not :) but only if it is a conjunction like 'and', 'but' & 'or'.

message 117: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Thanks!

message 118: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24353 comments I think there's now some confusion on what will work for the theme. The following will work:

* two or more words in a row starting with the same letter
* two words starting with the same letter separated by a conjunction. Conjunction words that qualify are :
And, But, If, Because, Or, When & For

As previously stated a hyphenated word can be counted as one or two words.

If your title doesn't fit the above rules, look again.

message 123: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11376 comments Nevermind Tamika...it was confusing for all of us and Jane decided to allow it the way we (I) read it. I'm sure others made came to the same conclusion and it would be too much of a pain to make everyone change. So just stay with the book you have! =)

message 124: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24353 comments Thanks Karen! Sorry for the confusion Tamika :)

message 127: by Nicole (new)

Nicole | 629 comments I found a book that I really want to read for this week, but I can't find a number of pages for the book. I have looked on Amazon and goodreads. Any suggestions?

message 128: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24353 comments You can work off word count Nicole. I think there is something in the Q&A thread that provides a minimum word count to work with.

LaurLa | 5099 comments I know this is going to end up being a dumb question but my brain is numb right now - can I clarify that each team member needs to make a rec to only one other team member and not a rec for each team member?

Each team member should receive at least one rec, but there is no limit on how many recs you hand out.
