The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. I enjoy the fact that it speaks of freedom and how far we have come as a country.
Choose two different options and read a book for each.
Option 1:
The Declaration of Independence began as a letter to King George to explain why the Continental Congress voted to declare independence from Great Britain. Read a book where the main character or author's name is George. The name George may occupy any position in the author's name.
Required: If the character's name is not included in the book's description or the book's metadata, identify the character's role
Option 2:
56 people signed the Declaration of Independence. Read a book that has a 5 or 6 in the number of pages.
NOTE: ebooks without print versions cannot be used for tasks requiring a specific number of pages. If you read an ebook or listen to an audiobook, use the page count for the mass market paperback if one exists. If there is no mass market paperback edition, use the paperback edition and if no paperback is available use the hardcover edition.
Option 3:
Currently, the oldest Independence Day celebration in the U.S. is held in Bristol, Rhode Island. Read a book where at least 50% of the book takes place in Rhode Island.
This list may help Rhode Island, but not every book on the list may work.
Option 4:
The United States Flag is an important part of the 4th of July Celebration. Read a book that has a United States Flag on the cover.
required: Include the cover
Option 5:
The 4th of July is also called Independence Day because it celebrates the independence of our country. Read a book by an indie author found on one of these two lists Popular Indie Authors or Best Books by Indie Authors
Required Please state the list you used and the page the book is found on the list
Option 6:
Since we are celebrating Independence day.. You can independently choose any book as long as it meets SRC Requirements.
Required: Indicate the options
