It added enormously to the story. I loved the atmosphere when they are out on the waters in all weathers.
I love the way the physical land is used in these stories and the author has a real way with words in describing it all. It makes me want to live there (almost)!
Okay. I love the description and the image he creates in my head of this setting. However, I do not want to be anywhere near a Minnesota winter.
It has been up to 44 degrees centigrade (I don't know what that is in Fahrenheit ) here in Sydney and people keep saying they would prefer snow and ice. I keep saying no they wouldn't! I like reading about it though.
The setting plays such a large part in the story. I feel like Krueger draws us into the story as we are reading an it makes it much easier to visualise the landscape. Phrynne I know. Australia stole New Zealand's summer.( Not that I want 44 degrees, but something over 24 would be lovely) It's been so extreme in your part of the world this summer. I saw that on one day Australia had the 15 hottest locations on earth. My husband's friend in Toowoomba kept sending him temperature updates and my husband and son are going there for a week in March.
