Hello Brian. Welcome to the group, I'm sure you'll enjoy it here. That Gerard De Villiers fellow was one heck of a novelist. More instances of life imitating art with him than any spy novelist before or since.
24 Legacy? It wasn't that bad. But it came and went. and while I don't mind discussing books and movies, this group normally focuses on books, and there were a lot of good books released when Legacy came out that kept us busy.
Also new 24 series is beginning.
Anyhow, do explore the group. We have a lot of discussion threads on things like specific tropes, writing conventions and other things.
By the way, I advise you check out these two items. The first is a tie in novel about what happened in the 48 hours after Day 8. The second is a prequel to Legacy where Jack Bauer is running from the CIA Special Activities Division in some godforsaken part of Ukraine.
Both are quite good.

Pleasure man. I believe it's these two you're talking about. First is Jack Bauer stuck on a arms dealer's container ship in Somalia. The second is a look into the past where Bauer was a CIA super - spy and on his first big job in Japan.

My name is Brian Drake and I just wanted to post and say hello, looking forward to the discussions here. I'm trying to spend more time on Good Reads and a group like this will be a big help.
I read and write spy stories so I'm very invested in the genre. Currently re-reading the James Bond books by John Gardner, and dipping into the Malko series from Gerard de Villiers.
Also I'm surprised there's no 24: Legacy talk....was it that bad? Haven't watched yet.
