I know this is a long shot, but this book has disturbed me since childhood.

It was a children's ghost story book from (roughly) the mid '80s. One of the images was of a house that had chicken/turkey legs. Another story was about a witch who wanted to put children's knuckles into a soup.

Sounds like a Baba Yaga tale. Mine growing up was called Bony-Legs, but it sounds different than yours.
