Kim (kadykayf) Now that you've read the book, what are your thoughts?

Rachel Pieters (rachelpieters) I personally loved this book. I read it two months ago, and I thought it was fun and really well written. It was interesting enough to keep me reading night after night, and I thought the way the sci-fi descriptions were done was nice and simplified, not hard to follow at all. I was going for fun and entertaining, and that was exactly what it was.

Kateri (the_librettist) | 3 comments Everyone is calling it Titanic in Space but I think it's Titanic in space for like 5% of the book and Lost on a deserted planet for the rest, only less tension/action packed. I also loved how it got all sorts of creepy deep at the end with Lilac and her "re-birth." Overall I adored this book, 4.5 STARS. Here's a link to my full review.

Shannon | 6 comments Finished it this morning... I liked it,overall, but I didn't love it. I really wanted to! I'm still ruminating as to why that is.

LauraW (lauralynnwalsh) I just finished it today. I got it yesterday from the library. I thought the whole book read like a B grade romance novel. I liked it, but I have read a lot of science fiction and it just didn't grab me like much of SF does. There was this big build up about the oddness of the terraformed planet, but not a correspondingly convincing raison d'etre. Not quite there for me.

Trina (trinabetweenchapters) I read this when it came out in December and in hindsight it is one of my favorite reads from 2013. The strange things that were happening on the planet and the nature of the beings and the rebirth stuff really creeped me out in a good way. I will admit that there was just something off, or something missing, but I can't put my finger on it and in my memory I only remember it being enjoyable. I really enjoyed Lilac as a character and am so sad that the sequel won't be about her and Tarver!

Grace (gdaminato) | 520 comments I just finished the book. I almost gave up on it but kept going - thanks to some of the science fiction - and finally got into it.

I found the interrogation segments interesting - those are one of the elements that kept me going. The mystery of the whispers and the brand new canteen finally hooked me and kept me going.

Much as I liked the story, I couldn't help wondering about Lilac's hair - weeks and weeks without washing or brushing, wouldn't it have developed into a huge rat's nest?

Deborah I read this in January, all I remember was the dress, and wondering why she was STILL wearing it, and the shoes. Didn't really enjoy it.

Elizabeth "Liza" (lizarodz) | 4 comments I LOVE this book! I 'read' it in audio and the narrators did an amazing job. It is a sci-fi with paranormal and romance thrown in for good measure. I do hope we get to see at lease a glimpse of Lilac and Tarver in the next book.

Ashlee I had a hard time getting through this book. By that I mean I was tempted to put it down several times and never pick it up again, but I was determined to get it finished and ended up ploughing through it in a day and a half just so I could move on to something else.

There were some good/interesting parts, but I just found majority of the book (I.e. After the crash) to be quite dull - the two characters weren't strong enough to hold the story up on their own and it just needed some more action and adventure for my liking.

I gave it 3 stars but really I think it's 2.5 ...I doubt I'll bother with the next book

Shelina (sherumi275) | 3 comments I felt exactly the same way as Ash whilst reading this book. The story just dragged on and I often had to talk myself into continuing the book. A lot of the situations the two encountered seemed like they were just thrown in there to build on the romance, rather than build on the story. I was hoping they'd encounter more predators along the way! I like me some action.

Stephanie (Gorelenore) Cover2CoverBlog (stephcover2cover) | 19 comments I enjoyed it once the plot picked up a bit but it was very hard for me to get into overall. I am not sure I will be reading the other ones in the series - I am afraid they will be just as slow paced in the beginning...
I did enjoy it though once I FINALLY got though it. Also I completely agree with Deborah - that dress ... why, arg it was so frustrating...

I listened to the audio too, I think that it made it better in distinguishing the voices of the characters versus the book version - I know some people had that issue.

Amber (amthebookworm) | 6 comments Overall ...

This book kind of blew me out of the water.

It was great and I'm glad I got to experience it.

The trials, the developments, and the relationship was just so worth the read.

I'm kind of sad it over.

But I did see something about a sequel.

:)

Rebekah (reback) | 1 comments This was a great read overall, yes I will say it is like the Titanic, but in space, and Tarver is in the military, and they really hate each other at the beginning, and she doesn't try to commit suicide (wink wink), and he doesn't die, and......
ACTUALLY, after you think about it isn't really THAT much like the Titanic. Anyway it's just a really good book that any hopeless romantic, like myself, would like if they have a spare 4 to 5 hours they need to kill.
