I am currently reading "I am Pilgrim" by Terry Hayes. Some excellent writing, particularly first couple of chapters, then is spurts all over the place for the next fifty pages or so..now settling back...i look forward to finishing...

Have had this sitting in a pile of books for years. Will maje a point to finally read it this year. Thanks Karen :)

Yes, John Grisham!!! Harlan Coben too. :)

My other can't put down: Sharon Bolton, Taylor Stevens, Anne Cleeland, Deborah Crombie and Louise Penny. The other authors I can put down for the night as long as I know I can read all day tomorrow.

James Aura

Games People Play
Old Friends and New Enemies
Before The Devil Knows You're Dead
all 5 star reads for me.

Authors I can't put down.
George Pelecanos
Walter Mosley
Peter Temple
Robert Crais
James Lee Burke
Ian Rankin
John Connolly
Henning Mankel
James Ellroy
Denis Lehane.

I think of these authors being similar, Ace Atkins-his later MS books, Robert Crais-especially the few that mostly feature Joe Pike, Taylor Steven starting with The Informationist. Dennis Lehane, Robert Galbraith, and James Lee Burke.

For me JO NESBO (INSPECTOR HARRY HOLE) are very hard to put down.
So far the KARIN SLAUGHTER (Will Trent series) is pretty thrilling as well (although there are romantic elements).
For amusing and unusual thrills I would also include ADRIAN MCKINTY's Sean Duffy series.
It's set in Northern Ireland in the1980s so it is very unpredictable.

I know there are more, but those are just a few of my CAN'T PUT DOWN authors.

Dean Koontz
Julie Garwood
Nora Roberts
Just about every book I've read of these authors sucks you in and you can't put it down until the last page.

I am looking for copies to give to my friends.

I hope you enjoy it here. I search out and read several of the authors you mentioned on your list.

A new indie author who is a lot like Lee Child, John Grisham, and Craig Johnson is P. Wesley Lundburg. His Frank Mattituck series set in Alaska is probably the best outdoor style crime suspense series I've read. Definitely impossible to put down. There are only 2 in the series so far, but they are coming out every six months. The author says the 3rd book will be out in September:
